This is the new Ford plant in Brazil. After checking this out, one can understand why Ford will never be building another plant in the USA or Canada.

The fact about robots was best stated by Ronald Reagan, when asked about peoples jobs being displaced by robots. He said, "Those people will be building robots" I would think the union could work with that
Ford wanted to build THAT plant here in the states. BUT, the UAW, in it's wondrous wisdom, said no, far too much robotics and those jobs were to be done by humans. So Ford took it off shore. It is a great concept and it works so fabulous that Toyota is attempting to implement something like it at their San Antonio plant. The suppliers are on site with manufacturing their parts on an as needed basis. While Ford can run up to 5 different cars on the same line, Toyota expects to run the Camry and the Tundra off of the same line. The fact that if there are any issues with the makers parts that they can go immediately to the line and talk with the folks that are experiencing the issue. All problems can be worked out in a matter of minutes rather than the usual months. What a concept! Letting the folks that are installing the parts talking to the folks that make the parts. So much for the worthless UAW. And by the way, if you didn't read about it yesterday, yer president said that your tax dollars will carry Chryslers UAW agreement.....meaning that if the deal with Fiat falls apart, YOU, the taxpayer, will be funding the UAWs retirement, medical, etc. You wanted change, you got change. So, who's funding your retirement?
Unions started out with good intentions and actually did a good thing when they first began. Now they've become ridiculous, with the union heads worrying more about themselves than the best interest of the workers. Unions are dragging down company after company with their demands.
It's almost impossible to fire someone who truly sucks at their job if they're in a union. Now that's good business!
The more that I think about it, Unions and Affirmative action have a lot in common, and that's not a good thing.

I'm happy to see what Ford has been doing lately.
Stock Shares are shooting up, not taking bail out money, slowly getting rid of the union parasites, and quality is up with honda & toyota now.

As far as my retirement, The market collapse, there is no retirement for me.
Why did you quote my statement and make that comment? My statement was about retooling current plants, not about building new plants.
When you mean scape goat, do you mean liberal obama supporting, parasite sucking "skilled"
worker?
Unions are worthless these days, and in bad economic times they still protest and try to get more $$$ while others are getting laid off.
