Cool

Don't know the model number, but Panasonic has a new Digital camera out that uses the imation superdisks which are over 100 megabytes so one disk can hold aroung 1500 pics. Haven't seen it for sale anywhere yet.

Cool

I bought an Olympus D360L recently for only $299. It's a 1.3 megapixel camera that comes with an 8mb smartcard. It does pretty much what all the other cameras do. If you go to: http://content.communities.msn.com/i...=SS97FordsPics you can see some pics taken with it (the ones towards the bottom of the photo album). I'd recommend this camera to anyone that wants a good inexpensive camera.

I bought a sony mavica FD-91. It was too heavy to lug around so I bought the smaller FD-83. It takes mpg movies as well as .jpg pics. No need to but memory cards, it takes pics right on 3.5" floppies and has a slide show viewer so you can play pics right on your tv.

Cool

I had been using a Fuji DX-9. Got it cheap a couple of years ago, but the quality left a lot to be desired.

Just this week I ordered an Olympus D-460 and after reading the reviews and seeing samples pics am excited to get it. Pretty reasonably priced and I can continue to use SmartMedia for the pics.

There are lots of new cameras on the market since the last post.
I'm considering a Sony DSC-S50 with the memory stick technology and getting a USB port reader. Anybody got this camera?

jimb i have the dsc-30 sony and i love it. it takes great pictures. has a lot of cool features with it. the memory stick is a nice feature. very small. and the infolithium battery has an awesome charge life. i dont have to charge it very often. i would suggest a better photo editing software other than the one that comes with it (mine came with photosuite) i bought paintshop pro version 7 and it is awesome. i picked it up for 78 dollars from chasestop.com

Question

Otterbob - I'm still considering the Sony DSC-S50 and have read opinions about this and other models at epinions.com.

Did you have any problems with the USB set-up?
Have you had to contact Sony support for any problems?
What PC and OS do you have?
(I have a new Dell Dimension 4100 with WinME.)

Thanks for your help,
JB

usb is a breeze! it is sooo easy. just plug the wire into the camera then plug the usb side in and turn the camera on. it cant get any easier.
