No..

Just no...

I've never been someone to say this, but if he doesn't quit doing this power trip of controlling the private business sector, someone will vote from the roof top.

For the people here that agreeing with his methods, and thinks the government should control private business, sports players, etc. salary's... man I feel very sad for your ignorance. What are you going to do when he comes in and says you are only worth for half of what you do....

I'm with partsman though, this has to be an April Fools Joke, even though it came out on Tuesday. I would think ESPN would be all over this...

It's an article from their April issue. They do something like this every year.

Sounds like a crock of April Fools Day poo to me.

The scary thing though is that Obama could really do that. Remember that, you jackasses that supported him and voted for him.

When Steve was running the site he would get us about every year.
Back in '99 the Home Page reported that the site had been shutdown by Ford for copyright infringement. It was a riot!

Here are some of his other gems you got when you logged in.

I hope it is a joke.

What is really a joke is how a majority of the people in this country agree that the government should have the power to alter private business contracts. You've all been caught by this class envy trap, hook line and sinker.

Words like thoes from FATHERFORD are the ones that you should be paying attention. I guess you think this is some kind of revenge for eight years of Bush. That revenge may well end up causing us to live in a country that is similar to Cuba or Venezuela. Castro and Chaves do the kinds of things that Obama is doing right now.

A majority of people in this country give the government, under the leadership of the Obama administration, way to much credit. It's a shame that you can't see that this government is usurping the Constitution with this overreaching power. We will all suffer for it.

I think its a smart move. Nascar is worthless. Saving that 250million a year is a smart decision.

Obama will get wind of this and get an idea!

But it sounds like a good idea to me.

Edit: But they have bigger problems with the banks blowing our tax dollars than the car companies.

I wonder how long before Kia gets in on the action?

At some point, they will need to take NASCAR to South Korea and Japan. They will need to change the name to IASCAR.

I think there have been several threads about that sort of thing, but they rarely get this many views and posts.

Govt. over-reaches and threatens the Constitution and Capitalism = Big yawn.

Govt. over-reaches and threatens NASCAR = OUTRAGE, even if its a joke.

My guess is Obama will not take down NASCAR - he does not want that kind of negative attention. He'll just keep on doing little things under the public's radar, like implementing national health care, imposing Cap & Trade, nationalizing the auto industry and banks, etc...

Obama isn't trying to take down NASCAR, he's just running GM and Chrysler as he sees fit.

The $250 million saved by pulling them off the track next year will more than offset the $165 million in AIG bonuses.

This is a good thing, no?
