Walmart ammo.....

Is anybody else's Walmart completly out of 9mm. Mine has been out of 9 for like 3 straight weeks. Not like they are getting it in and selling out fast, they are not getting any, anybody know whats up.

I kinda feel ill prepared for a rush on ammo with only 400 rounds.

Months ago I started buying a few hundred rounds each time I went to Wal Mart. I got up to a few thousand 9mm and a couple thousand 40 cal.

The other day I thought I should buy a few hundred more 9mm. The girl at the gun counter said I just missed out. Some guy bought 45 BOXES of WWB 9mm. That's 4500 rounds!!

Anyway, they have been persistently out of ammo for months now. You have to catch them as soon as they get a shipment. It doesn't last long.

They built a new walmart here recently. I asked one of the workers why there was no Gun showcase. She said "Walmart was phasing out guns and eventually ammo out of all stores all togather"

I have no way to verify this. It was about 1-1/2 ago. They still sell bullets. Where as a the old Walmart just miles down the same road, they still sell guns.

BTW, try cheaperthandirt.com

It is the obama effect. Gun sales have never been higher. The smart ones know what is up with this clown. I am buying all the ammo I can now.

The WalMart here quit selling handgun ammo quite a while ago. They still have shotgun shells and some rifle ammo, but it's getting slim pickings.

Well crap fellas, this does not make me feel good. I might as well start saving to buy it in bulk, I was just buying it a hundred rounds at a time.

It's not much cheaper in bulk... unless you can pick it up somewhere close to you. The shipping will kill you.

s2krn, I have actually never found it at a cheaper per bullet cost than the WWB at Wally world. Even at guns shows. Am I doing something wrong?

You can check www.gun-deals.com for best prices on ammo. Occasionally you can catch a deal at Bass Pro or Cabelas, but usually Wal Mart has the best price.

Go to gun-deals and click on the ammo tab. make sure to sort your columns by CPR; Cost Per Round. If you put in your zip it will also calculate shipping into the price.

Your best best is to just buy everything Wal Mart has every time you're there. Ammo sure isn't going to get any cheaper that's for sure.

I live here in houston tx the other day I went to go get some ammo and noticed the same. An old friend works there and showed me the recent price increase wow what the hell is going on... It was slimm picking here at the local Academy and I have never had a problem there. Hell the price of my arrows went up also about $6 for a box of 6 come on guys they used to only be $40.

I was at Walmart this morning, and bought WWB 9mm at $19.98, but the sporting goods lady told me to be prepared for another price increase, but she did not know when.

The are two Walmarts near me in Downtown San Diego that I bought out of their 9mm WWB.

Depends on where you live I guess. I live in California and own 5 handguns, AR-15 rifle, and two shotguns, and a few thousand rounds of ammo. If I can do it, anybody can

BTW - On a side note, I notice you are a fellow E65 owner. I have a 06' 750LI as well
