Like the station logo that is in the corner of every channel now days?

I love my 50inch HD Plasma Panasonic, but I must admit the one drawback is the Blacks.

Yeah, but the logo's go away during commercials and such. You would need a static image on screen for at least 48 hours or more constantly to actually do any damage.

42' Vizio, I love it. Just installed a 42 philips for a couple few weeks ago. Sitting there watching it, it is surely a nice tv for the money. I would say Walmart, for a nice Vizio or Philips. I don't think your really going to tell that much of a difference in most of the tvs other than there exterior components i.e. screens.

I've heard and read that plasmas lose picture quality or develop burn in over a relatively short life. I haven't researched TVs forever. Any truth in that?
My Hitachi plasma has never had any issues with image retention, even when playing video games. My son's LG plasma will show image retention after only a few minutes of playing a video game. You really can't make broad statements about them, since it seems to vary greatly by brand and model.
