It seems to me that, if this was true, that EVER national and international news team would be riding this like a rented mule... I think the source is *very* questionable. Then again, I do read The Sun and believe in Nessie, the abominable snowman, and 'visitors' from Mars. *shrugs*

First off ya its just weed, not a big deal at all for most people. However yall are missing the point. He knew the rule about no drugs, and (if it is actually him) he broke it anyway. Whether or not its a horrible drug he broke the rules knowingly and should be punished. I am all for legalizing it and everything, but its not yet and there are still rules that should be followed.

Man made booze, God made weed, go figure.

Well, looks like Michael Phelps is the biggest Douche Bad Loser of all time. He has admitted it was him and it was bad judgement. This behavior has now cost him multi millions of dollars and possibly his Olympic career. The USOC is somewhat defending Phelps, but I bet he ends up in some trouble in his Olympic career as well. Goodbye sponsorships!!

Not necessarily...

The party occurred nearly three months after the Olympics while Phelps was taking a long break from training, and this apparently would have no impact on the eight golds he won at Beijing. He has never tested positive for banned substances and even agreed to extra testing before the games.

Marijuana is viewed differently from performance-enhancing drugs, according to David Howman, executive director of the World Anti-Doping Agency. An athlete is subject to WADA sanctions only for a positive test that occurs during competition periods.

“We don’t have any jurisdiction,” Howman said. “It’s not banned out of competition. It’s only if you test positive in competition.”
Like I said before, it's not like he was using a performance enhancing drug. He's just a young guy trying to have some fun and making some dumb mistakes, like letting someone take a picture like that.

Maybe you need to find a forum where your kind is accepted.
Just tell your kids to be fans of the gators they will learn a good moral lesson from Tebow.

If my kids turn out to be Gator fans I'll dump them at the orphanage!

Wait, wait...so we have now established that you can smoke reefer and still be an 8 time gold medalist? Wow, maybe we should rethink "role models" altogether, seems that smoking pot doesn't exactly mess up your life so bad that you can't win the Olympics 8 times...

But we have also established it can cost you hundreds of millions of dollars! I could stay away from ANYTHING if it were going to cost me millions!
