Long story short, CC deserves to go bankrupt as many times as it's needed before they don't come back.
Aw come on - tell us what you REALLY think!

Im glad that you believe a company deserves to go bankrupt and throw 35,000+ including myself into unemployment when its not easy to find a job anywhere at this time, and our unemployment is astounding in the country. So by your thought, Chrysler deserves to do the same things and add over 100,000+ (on the extreme light side of numbers) to the unemployment list. Way to help the economy. Just because a company isnt the best or smartest does not warrant them to deserve to shut down. Other wise I could list about 15 companies who deserve it, starting with walmart and the 1.6+ million associates. I mean the place sucks and I dispise it so they deserve to shut down, screw the 106+ million associates, they will be like me! Just as ignorant as the people who came into our store while we were liquidating telling us stright to our face that we deserved to lose our jobs. Only difference is, I was actually allowed to grab them physically and throw them out of the store.

Yes it does. It's called capitalism. That's why we're in trouble with all of these bailouts. Let the companies fail so they can be replaced with competent management. If the government would get out of the way and let more companies fail, there would be more productive jobs in the end.

So now we are headed for an inflationary recession like Japan had in the 1990's (Lost Decade).

Alomar, I sincerely hate the fact you got laid off man. In my area over 60 percent of the population are laid off currently. Over 500 people homes have foreclosed just in my county in the last year. We are ravaged by big bis that ship overseas and mass produce, you hear of steel city, well I guess we are wood city this entire area was engulfed with the furniture building industry. Now the massive buildings which once was the entry point to many of locals lives, are sitting empty with spray tags all over them. But lets face it maybe not in your store, but Circuit City has some real winners working there.
Frank S dude I know where your coming from. If our Goverment dont stick it too these big bis mobiles and start taxing imported items jobs will never come back and if those companies dont want to pay and hike there prices here instead O well. Looks like Walmart is out, there will always be another one behind them. Maybe even a come back for Roses, or superK

While I haven't had the bad experience JBMX928 has had, I've actually preferred Circuit City over Best Buy most times (though not ten years ago), the bad part for us is the lack of competition. Now, you can go to Best Buy or some department store. maybe it's time for the smaller regional stores to come back, but we need competition.

Funny you bring up foreclosures. As a side job (under the table) I am helping a friend out who has his own business doing home appraisals. Literally from 7am till 3pm we are driving all over the city and out outter cities from Phoenix doing house appraisals. Every single one we do is a foreclosure, to put into perspective how many houses we do, were only at one house for no more than 15 mins. each.

I have been getting very few hours at work lately, not laid off, but still being affected, but Circuit City is complete trash. I have never seen a competent person ever working there. I obviously don't think this way about all places, but they are practically robbing people with their prices. I know I spoke very harshly of the company, but it was not with the intention of hoping people would lose their jobs. I just do not like the company. I have had 0 positive experiences with it and just dont feel it's a very good business.

edit: however, I might head there this weekend and see if that POS store can gimme anything for my PC cheap . I'm not expecting anything to go for real cheap yet since their site says they are expecting the final sales to go through march...

Deals for liquidation wont be for a while, the first few weeks is MSRP then the percentage. Until it hits 50% its not worth it, just so ya know.

It's amazing how somebody can talk bad or not buy from a company and when they find out they are going out of business they get all happy about maybe getting a good deal. I worked for a place that was going out of business and people that normally didn't buy from us ( price shoppers that bought online and not thru us ) were now coming in and buying because of the discounts. I loved the people who came in and tell me as I am cashing them out " I just loved coming here and doing business and I can't believe you are going out of business. "

I just shopped at Circuit City today. My friend that works there says he was given 60 days to find a new job. Anyway lets just say the employees were not about customer service today.

And they wont be, once the liquidators come it it's a free for all. The expectations from them are nothing aimed towards customers. It;s all what they want done, some associates will still be friendly and the like otherwise dont go expecting the best experience at all. They are almost free to do what they like.
