-Very comfortable for driver and front passenger, I drive long distance alot so I know.
-Not too cramp for rear passengers, got stuck there for 200 miles, slept like a baby and is definitely more comfy than SAMTRANS bus.
-Almost no loss in mpg's when haul up to 1500+ of pure payload, as long as I drive highway, at 65mph and slow and easy acceleration.
-No major problems so far.
-Windshield wipers aren't necessary (with Rain-X)
-It's so pretty, with the campershell on.
-Rides great when loaded.
-Has hauled a bunch so it was worth the purchase.
-Its not as boring to drive.
-The backseats are very functional.
-The view is terrific, except for parking.
-San Francisco to LA without a need to stop for gas (if driven properly)

Dislikes
-The V-6 has the oomph, you just have to wait for it.
-The mileage is crap if you drive city, and at 75mph and above.
-squats too low when loaded with 1000+ lb payload. Over 1200 lbs the springs are bent upside down (helpers fixed that)
-Its not rated to haul over 1200 lbs (payload - campershell - driver)
-Wrangler AP's don't grip too well on rain, and it bulges too much when loaded.
-Mine has no towing equipment (U-haul will fix that later)
-Turn signal stalk has keeps disengaging or refuse to engage when wheel is at a certain angle.
-Its not a V-8.
-My radio is hot after playing a tape.
-I have to turn everything off, before playing the radio while parking, which interferes while in the middle of songs.
-Payload is severely limited with passengers.
-Its not a 3/4 ton variant.
-There is a circular scratch made by holloween pranksters throwing softboiled eggs in overpasses.
-Some people don't bother to dry their feet before getting in the truck, thinking that because its a truck I don't mind having dirty carpets.
-The rear door cupholders vibrate too much spilling soda and coffee all over.
-Privacy glass cuts sideways situational awareness at night.
-Big blindspot on left side door pilar.
-A b1tch to park.
-A b1tch to drive in downtown.
-Its not unique since nearly every other vehicle is an F-150.

What I hate about trucks in general
-Gas mileage sucks no matter what.
-Hard to park, hard to maneuve, more surface area to wax.
-I see far too much trucks with empty beds, people buying them and not using it for its intended purpose, to haul and tow.
-I hate lowriding trucks for they are generally useless since they can't haul much or tow much.

Tina: "Seriously, though", Raoul has a good suggestion. Check out those pedal extenders at a supply place for people with disabilities. Lots of shorter people use them.

They just bolt on so your foot hits the pedal closer to you. Kinda like putting blocks on bike pedals for kids.

Nearly everything. That's why I buy Ford's

Dislikes:

Piston Slap (not for long)

Noisy engine on acceleration. (needs more sound insulation)

Twitchy in windy conditions and it doesn't have to be very windy! Both of my F-150's have done this.

Doesn't seem as "tight" as my 97 was.

I hate the placement of the seat belts, you almost cant put them on without dislocating your arm.

I just love the awsome appearance of this truck.
I dislike the weak brakes when driving in city traffic.

I can't believe no one thinks that the turn signal cancels out to easy, if the wheel is not almost perfctly straight the signal cacels out, That is my complaint .

The rest is great.

I really love the style and ride of my 97 lariat. What upsets me about my 97 is I had to replace the two front rotors with only 44K on the truck. It is not that they were worn out but rather rusted too crap. I live in the Northeast. I guess the salt of winter did it. I just read where Chrysler is recalling 96/97 jeeps and suv's for that same problem. Ford would not do a damn thing for me. They said it is a wear item and the truck is out of warranty. I let the guy know that the rotors were not worn but falling apart. Too bad for me! I am not a billion dollars company Ford is they don't care. Now I have 46K on my truck and the trannies is making a very strange winey noise. I don't off road with my 4X4, only use the 4X4 if needed for the snow. If indeed the tranny is going It is out of warranty. But it is hard for me to take that the Ford truck I have is breaking down under 50K. And I baby this beauty! Of course the door is cracking. The last Ford I owned was a 56 F-150 never one ounce of trouble or problem. Ford Motor Co. has left me really disappointed. After I replaced the rotors at Ford dealer prices with Ford parts the dealer ship at least gave me a free oil change and filter. But Ford Motor Co. proper says too bad sucker!!! If vehicles last a lot longer these days why doesn't the warranty. 3/36 is all the truck is good for according to the Factory. That is all the time they trust the truck to do what it is suppose to. Thank for listening I hope Yall don't run into these things with a low milage truck........

my only complaint with the truck is very minor. i didn't want power windows and becuase i'm on the shorter side (5' 9) i have a problem rolling the window up and down with the crank in the position they decided to put it in. this is because the seat is in the way.
guess this could be considered a good marketing ploy for power windows.
oh well i can live with it. otherwise i love the truck.

I really like my truck, it has 138,000 klms (80,000 miles) on it. It's very good looking, great to drive and has basically been trouble free.
I dislike the smug dealer punk that tells me (while smiling from ear to ear) that if I want something fixed it will be forever, and cost about the same as the national debt!
I think the interior of my truck is a joke! Leather my azz! I paid how much for what? More like 'pleather' and could they not put some material/carpet on the doors?
Turn signals and stereo sucks too.
I'm 95% satisfied and it's far better than the alternatives!

I wish I could have ordered the leather steering wheel separately for my XLT. Other than that, my current truck is exactly like I wanted it.
