Got my first video game console since the N64 was cool. Never really was much into them but i just spent the last 5 hours of my life playing Unchartered and it was actually really sweet. the amount of things you can do with the PS3 is amazing. its like its own little home entertainment center, and the blue ray player is gonna be sweet when i get a new TV.


So what games do you guys and girls have and what would you recommend?

nice..ive been debating wheather to get the xbox360 or the ps3.

 

I've played both for a whole month when I went to go visit my uncle and the Xbox wins hands down. The Live playability on-line simply levels out any advantage PS3 has with graphics. Besides, most games for the PS3 come out on the 360 plus some games are being made only for the 360 (Halo, Walo Wars, Recon Edition, etc)

 

ps3 on line is free which is also sweet and it has a blue ray, and xbox dont but xbox is cheaper so i had to settle for that =( but halo 3 is a great online game for xbox, but i would rather like a ps3 cuz im used to their controls and they have those cool controllers (for example: if you turn your controller you turn your car, jet, truck etc.) and they are rechargeable so you don't have to buy batteries every week like on xbox, some games that would be good, gta4, motor storm, midnight club LA, metal gear, gran turismo 5, and ps3 has better graphics, but i still like xbox

 

i like my 360. never been a playstation fan. but i play 360 maybe once ever couple months now. both new systems are good, ive played both, both have their pro's/con's. remember that the $199 360 system doesn't come with a harddrive so factor that into the price if you buy one.

Never really spent much time with a PS3, but some good games to check out are Fallout 3, Call of Duty and GTA4.

I like how fanboys hijack threads. The thread isnt about which is better XBOX or PS3, its about who has a PS3 and what games are recommended. FFS.

And for the fanboys, I have both. PS3 is superior in every way. XBOX live is a rip off. I bought both consoles at the same time and have had my xbox replaced already due to Ring of Death. I only have a microcrap xbox so I can play GoW.

 

Definately pick up a HD tv if you dont have one yet. Once you play the ps3 on one you'll wonder how you ever did without.

Uncharted was pretty cool. I've been playing Socom recently. It's fun if you like strategy shooters where dieing matters instead of respawn type games. There are respawns but most just use those to get used to the controls and you cant gain any rank from them.

Resistance, Fallout, Left for dead, little big planet, dead space. Hell I have a blast playing civilization revolution lol

Tons of games out there, depends on what you like to play.

 

The only games I can recommend for the PS3 are Metal Gear Solid 4 and Resistance 2. Gran Turismo is supposed to be really big, but Forza Motorsport 3 is supposed to be better then that.

 

Is that a typo? I'm a hardcore Forza 2 fan and I haven't heard anything about a FM3 yet

 

It supposed to come out next year and have 400 cars, 100 tracks and it's going to be on 2 discs. I just hope the added trucks this time around.

 

GTA IV for sure. Finally it came out for PC and it's literally the best game I've ever played.

 

I have a question for you. We got a PS3 for Christmas and also got a copy of MGS4 and cannot get past the first act?? We just keep getting killed. How do you play this game?? We never played any of the MGS games this is the first. This game seems very hard.

 

It's a sneaking type game, with LOTS of guns. You goal is to not be seen. You mainly sneak around using suppressed weapons, operator .45 or the .22 dart pistol, and you go where ever you have to go by doing this. You can just run around blowing stuff up, but that usually leaves you KIA.
