what year? looks like a 87+ though...sucks if so since it won't have the solid axle.

they are fun little things offroad aren't they?

your title got me all worried that we'd lost another one

swap a straight axle under there and your set for serious trail riding. is that like a 1990 or so? i think 87 still looks like the classic mini truck.

Its a 92 v6. (Tylus) what you mean about the solid axle?? But yes Tylus its a fun lil truck off roading, like drivin an over-sized 4 wheeler.. it just dont handle like the ole F in mud; does a lot of sliding....

82-86? had solid axle up front...I'm pretty sure 87 was the start of the IFS on those puppies

tylus, im 90% sure 84 was the last year for Straight axles in the mini trucks. my friend had one up at school and boy was that lil truck impressive. 85 i think was the year they went to IFS. if you plan to offroad this truck a Straight axle swap will be a great upgrade. should be a pretty easy swap to since their so popular

I know what you mean.. everyone always talked about how well these lil truck offroaded until i realized 1st hand its an all around(one wheel wonder). The F will go through more mud/snow and handle 10x better while doing it. Never had the F slide like the Yota.

yeah, you need the TRD package to get traction...but they're so small you can get into the nasty fun spots the a F-150 won't fit into. Just keep the F-150 around when you go muddin' so she can pull the Taco out when you get stuck

I had a 2000 4Runner (same as a Taco, just has a Bed cap on it). it was great for getting into the small areas, but mud wasn't a high point

At least that is a real truck... Not like the fake Tundras falling/rolling apart these days.

Superduty is where it is at.

Or an older f-350 4x4.

i was wrong. it was 85 that they changed. always get the years confused for some reason. still learning about yota's. hope to have my 40 to bare frame by mid january if i can find some help to pull the body.

how much did you pick that yota up for? what engine is in it? the older toyota engines are incredible engines. long life and great for offroading. i know the 4 bangers and the straight six (f and 2f) can lug around at such low rpms on trails its crazy and make good torque for the engine size

Those older yotas (late 80s/early 90s) are indestructible. A few of my friends have them. One beats the absolute **** out of his...never cleans it, has rolled it, offroads like crazy...the thing never breaks. Another friend has one with 370k miles on the original engine and tranny.

Well atleast you bought a good one. For a second I thought you traded your F150 for a Tundra.. that would have been a bad choice lol.
