Whatsup, guys n gals? Well im doin my first cage fight sat jan 24th. I'm jus lookin for some pointers. Im 5'7, 145-150 lbs n put together pretty decent....but i have never hit anyone or been in a fight in my whole life. I wrestled for 9 years, played football for 5, ran track for 6..state qualifier, ran cross country for 1, n im kind of a country boy...so hard work isnt a big deal since im kind of athletic. i workout ocassionally...nuthin crazy. but im not into submission moves. i wanna knock him out or be knocked out. im gonna start some halfassed tranin for the next month what should i do? any help to save my *** is greatly appreciated. this was kind of a random..guy at the bar seen me n said hey u wanna do a cage fight so my natural competitiveness said YEAH. n here we are. the lowest weight class is 155 so ill be givin up about 10-15 lbs cuz im gonna lose some weight once i start runnin n workin out. so yea, what advice does the f-150 community have for me?

x2one word...CARDIO! if the fight goes on for a while this is what will save your ***. oh yeah and, Stick and Move little Mac...Stick and move!
You'll find out very quickly that its much harder than it looks. Ive been in a few and I can hold my own but still it sucks. im 5'8 170, athletic, and play rugby. Its a brutal sport but not in comparison to a fight. Oh and getting knocked out in real life hurts.
I think ultimate fighting would be awesome to compete in and I think I would do well in it, but my advice is to quit and pick up a sport/hobby that does not have the chance of doing permanent physical/mental harm. When you mess with repeated nasty blows to the head, bad things can happen. You dont see those cases on TV
Good luck man

i know its brutal n its not like a thing im gonna do a lot jus wanna try it. i can take hits. ive jus never thrown back. i know i can hold my own...well more than some people think..theyve jus never seen me in that state. im goin for it n whatever happens happens. im not expectin to go out n dominate or get completely blown out of the water. im walkin out there...not bigheaded by any means since anything can happen. jus was hopin to get some decent pointers from guys who might know a lil about the sport from experience.
