Go get some boxing and kicking training. You're not likey to out box or kick the guy, but you need to learn the basics of how to punch and how to kick.

Use your wrestling skills, I know you say you don't want a submission move, but just like in wrestling, good technique will take you further than raw power. With your wrestling background, you are going to find yourself much more comfortable on the ground than standing, take the fight to the ground.

Similar to wrestling this sport is way more mental than it is physical, fight smart, and be aggressive. Don't let your opponent set the tempo of the match, it's YOUR fight.

Geeeez.....

I love watching MMA / UFC... Huge fan {the Fight for the Troops last week was bad *** !

But I can't even imagine actually doing it. One things for sure, no matter how bad you are, sooner or later you will get your **** seriously kicked ! Personally speaking, for me to kick 500 guys ***** in a row, is just not worth getting mine seriously kicked in the 501st fight :-) In reality though, I'd get my **** kicked by the first pro fighter I ever fought, and their wouldn't be a second fight ;-)

I prefer to fight big fish ! They don't usually hurt you :-)

Peace,
Fish

awesome advice guys! finally gettin a lil support. thanks. yea cardio and going the distance in a fight wont be all that hard for me. when i wrestled it was either i pinned the guy or the match went six minutes or longer n i was never tired at the end. runnin long distance isnt a problem since i warm up like that for my atv races which are usually enduros that last over 45 minutes. i need to brush up on my moves so im goin back to my highschool every night and gonna try and practice with the bigger guys.

ill be sure to take before and after pics. of me and the other guy. definitely gonna work on the punchin n kickin skills. my legs have always been powerful... 6 yeasr of triple jump will do that.

i know i said i dont want a submission win or loss but yea if its there i will take it. i plan on usin my speed to my advantage. my friends all call me "scrappy" cuz im tiny but i can move fast and strike hard if i wanna n im hard to hold on to.

my biggest thing is i dont wanna be the guy that goes out n gets rocked by one lucky punch right away and game over.

thanks again for the advice and support from some of you.
keep it comin

I wish i could teach you some quick tips from my days of kempo/kickboxing in person. Always keep your guard up. Im gonna try to describe my blocking technique the best i can. Guard position being fists balled in font of your face about 3-4 inches off your eyebrows. To block a shot to the face throw your hand behind your ear or move both forearms in front of your face to block a straight on shot. Think about how much impact your forearm can take rather than trying to block it with a hand and you'll start to get the picture of what im trying to describe. You can also guard your ribs from here but simply dropping your elbow to your obliques. Ill post more as i think of the essentials and get the time to write them.

EDIT: Ok so i got some time...

Kicking
The thing to remember is you dont kick with your foot, but the lower shin. When i fight the big thing i look for is to take a shot at his IT band/outter quad. If you can get him limping right away it really takes some wind out of their sails. And remember to kick THROUGH the target not hit and bounce off. Since trying a high kick toward the face ribs will leave you exposed since you have no training in rebounding fast from it, i would say stay with kicking for his quads. Whatever leg you kick a soccer ball with should be back at all times, and loaded at all times ready to use.

Punching

All punches should be thrown from the guard position i described above. A jab is pretty self explanitory its the hook that most people do different ways. Remember when throwing a punch that you should always keep the side your not punching with guarded in case of a counter or hes punching at the same time. When throwing a hook your palm should be facing you for the best impact. And always immediately go back into guard if your not attacking or finished an attack.

Look for weaknesses

Watch his moves and look for an area that he looks like he doesnt protect well. MOST people that dont have training i would say its their legs. Otherwise look at his guard position as to what side of his face he may leave open.

What i try to do when i fight

-Stay away from his dominant hand, so find out whether hes right or left handed. Shy to the side away from that
-If he comes at you low immediately go for the guillotine move. But since you dont know submissions, if he tries this to bring you down lock him up somehow and pound on his ribs like your trying to break one. Otherwise i hope your a really good wrestler.
-If he stays high, stay with kicks. I learned that you can keep someone at bay by having the threat of a kick there at all times.
-Try to end the fight fast. No need to take a beating you dont have to. Shot to the jaw, broken rib, something. Put HIM in a lot of pain very quickly.

Watch the head and jewels. Give the other guy the least amount of surface area to work with and like was said before, don't hit the target hit behind it. Also for goodness sake, tap out if the other guy is excited over the possibility of breaking your freakin' arm

thanks guys...the advice jus keeps gettin better. i already know the basics of hitting past the target..just need to apply it in real life. thanks for the blockin lesson too, though somewhat common sense, easy to forget when actually needed to apply.

i will definitely kick the quads if i get the chance, i know i can do damage with my legs. i will get someone to tape the match for u guys so u can see what happens....no matter how bad it may end up.

but at least i know i went out n tried it. thats more than most can say.

started trainin a bit today...but really gettin into it this week around my work schedule and the holidays comin up.

n yea id never kick directly with my foot...like i said, i know the basics of fighting, jus never applied them since im the guy who usually breeaks up fights instead if gettin involved in them, but i know i can hold my own against most....well i hope so anyways.

keep the advice comin it really is greatly appreciated. anything to save my *** from a pure beatdown lol.

Once he hits you, and you're seeing three of him, try to hit the one in the middle.

True. But how much TRAINING has the other guy had? He could be pretty much cage-worthy right off the bat. If so, keep him on the ground and use your wrestling background to your advantage.

Absolutely! If I were you, I'd get on a treadmill, run, do wind-sprints, etc up until the fight. Again...you might THINK you're in good shape, but if the other guy is in REALLY good shape, you'll find out in a hurry just how you stack up...good or bad.

Another thing...you said you didn't work out much. Fine. But you'll be absolutely amazed at how heavy your hands and arms will get just by guarding your face with them...much less punching. Do some exercises to strengthen your arms and shoulders.

Keep in mind...most MMA fights are 3, 5-minute rounds. Quite a bit longer than 6 minutes, and if the other guy wants to push the pace faster than you can take it....15 minutes is a LONG time.

Good luck!

One key thing is to relax. I know you won't be able to because it is your first fight but if you can relax and stay loose you will go further. If you are tense you will be drained quickly. When we spar in Tae Kwon Do cardio is the biggest issue. It gets hard to breathe with the damn mouthguard in your mouth.

Ok, I stand corrected, but Lindsay and Paris take different kinds of 'blows' to the face. If you know what I mean.
