Angry Parking spaces

What's the deal with the parking spaces in most lots being so small?
SUV's are so popular now they should start making spaces a little bigger.
I have a tough time getting my Regular cab shortbed into some spaces.
How do you that have supercab and/or longbed get them in there?

I just take 2. Far away from other cars and all the abandoned carts. (There should be laws against allowing shopping carts in parking lots)

Sometimes, I will take 2 spots, because some ignorant people dont know how to park! All crooked, etc. But if I cant even get a spot, I'll park way down in the 'downtown' of the parking lot!

Dslipe,

I hate those shopping carts, and the people who leave them out there like that!

I pull up as far as I can, and let the rest hang out. When I go back in the parking lot I know which one is mine, because it is sticking out. If some excursion or suburban is in the way, I just look up for my whip antenna. They do need to make them bigger though, if you have 2 fullsize vehicles parked properly you still can not get in or out of you truck.

Cool

Ooooh don't mention shopping carts!!! Too late, you got me started. Monday, my last week at this job, I'm in my Truck at a "yuppie" Krogers in Birmimghan, and I hear a crash followed by the sound of a rolling cart. I ran to the back of my Truck where I grabbed the rolling cart just in time to stop it from hitting my Truck. I looked around to locate the offender, and said "who's the idiot!?" whereupon I hear a lady peek out her window to say "thank you" I said (still breathing fire for a confrontation) "I didn't do it for you" She then said "it must have been up against my car and I didn't see it" I said "oh, I understand now! I don't know why people do things like that" Her "story" sounded real, so I calmed down. She said she couldn't beleive how fast I moved.
Hey I'll move as fast as it takes, but if this keeps up, I'll need a Superchip for my boots!
Any ways I always park in the "no-scratch-zone" located next to a curb on on side and no cars for miles on the other side.

I have always parked far from the doors of any building, cept home, because I am very paranoid about dents, scratches etc. Of course, when I get a SuperCab Longbed, Ill have to park in the "trucks" section. (longer rows)

That's why I love concrete. I always find a spot where at least one side is protected by a curb, or building.

At work, I park in the Superdome and have a friend that likes my truck as much as I do, he gets in about 5 minutes after me each day and parks next to me to help protect the other side. Of course, this also protects his passenger side, since he knows I'm not going to throw my doors open either.

When I got my truck, I passed a 92 Stanza to my wife and it still looks brand new, no door dings, or scratches.

I'd rather walk a mile than risk the damage, and heaven help us both if I can catch them!

I also park in the back forty - the wife hates it but my truck is still ding free. I'm not sure if its the parking job or the step bars though. Those things stick out just far enough to put a crease in some idiots door who lets it swing out to hard. There are a couple of light scratches on the bars - I hope it got them goooooood!

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one...boy does my wife hate walking that far when we go out. When I park I try to find a curbside spot also, but I also try to place the curb on my passenger side. My logic is that the majority of people drive alone a majority of the time...therefore when a lone driver parks on my left...his hopefully unoccupied passenger side door (on my left) has much less chance of dinging my truck. Does this make some sense? or am I thinking about it tooo much.

Some of you had better be careful. Saw a story on the news a couple of months ago. Palo Alto in California is tagging large vehicles who park in compact stalls or too close to the line. You will definitely get a parking ticket if you take two stalls there. I'm not sure if the law applies to all parking lots or just municipal lots.

I like to park away from the crowd. I think it' quicker to just wheel into a space with nothing around than to spend time roaming the lot for a space close to the door. But I'm always amazed when I come out to a near empty lot and look way over to my truck and see some moron parked right next to it. the only thing worse is when your forced to park over the line because the idiot next to you couldn't fit his Yugo between the lines. Then he leaves and you look like the idiot. Maybe I'm just bitter because I hate to shop in general.

Cool

sounds like were're all the same when it comes to parking our beast It's too bad we can't keep some of those road construction cones in the back to place around the truck when we park. Another thing I've noticed is I'll park in the boonies with NO ONE near me. When I return, it looks like I'm in the middle of the Trucks Only parking lot. Which is kind of good because they are also taking up 2 spaces each and none of those little compact jobs can park near us Another thing I hate is grocery shopping. I park in the boonies, by the curb, and I back in as close to curb as I can get. When I come out, I have to pull the truck forward just to put the grocerys in the back. Gee, you would think they were trying to attach their compact to my hitch.
I wonder how much more space my new F250 Crew Cab is gonna take???

I have to park downtown Columbus, Ohio during the workday, it sucks! So much dust from all the construction, dont get me started on that...I always try to find an end spot, one next to the grass so there's only a car on one side of me, preferable the pass side so I can get out my side.

I find the "no scratch zone" too, way out in the boonies.

I don't mind the walk.
