Lightbulb GM to possibly drop Saturn, Hummer, Saab, and Pontiac.

Looks like GM is thinking about some serious cuts to try and get that bailout money. They went through 6.9 billion dollars last quarter; so with a 25 billion dollar bailout they should be back in line with their hands out in about a year! What a waste of money. Only time will tell.

Declines across GM’s brands are adding to losses of almost $73 billion since the end of 2004. After burning through $6.9 billion in cash last quarter, GM said Nov. 7 that it had $16.2 billion as of Sept. 30. GM has said a bankruptcy filing would be a “disaster.”

Saw that article too, they need to drop some of those, they have way too many brands to keep up with and manage.

I worked for GM this past summer as an dimensional performance engineering intern. There was alot of talk about this then as well. My project even got cancelled halfway through the summer and it was a Saturn. I believe they are in even worse shape then we are hearing about, if that is even possible.

There's going to be plenty of infrastructure work in this country for those who will really need jobs. It'll be hard work, so hopefully they can step it up.

I'd much rather have a GMC than chevy

I agree! My dad has a GMC. The front of a new Chevy truck, looks bad compared to the GMC front! The GMC actually looks decent!......

In reality GM only needs Cadillac, GMC Truck, Chevy-no trucks, all the rest can take a hike!.....
