Question

Nomo: Is your Monte Carlo the new style? Those are pretty bad. I can see why you got one of those. FORD doesnt even offer competition with the Monte. Sucks dont it. By the way is TTL still $1000 down there? Least that was what it was for my uncles SuperDuty! Jeez That sucks. I have to agree 100% with you on the "old" F-150. Stupid dealers won't give jack for them. I can't get rid of mine. I love it to death and it loves me!

NoMo answers all:

First, yes, I'm whipped.

Well, actually, we (mostly me) have been contemplating a Lincoln LS as a third vehicle. But the cost is just a little too much right now, so I was all in for a new truck to replace my '93. We were out looking at pickups and I remembered that I wanted to show my wife the new 2000 model M.C. I had seen it a week or so earlier and thought it was pretty nice looking.

After sitting in it (on the showroom floor), I asked to drive it and they said OK. Since production is still limited, the one is all they had- so they took it off the floor for us to drive. That was all it took. Even though it's not the SS, it's still very quick. And, the 32mpg is something we can't get if we added the mileage of the "X" and my F150 together. I have to admit that GM did a good job of designing this car. The trunk is huge and both sections of the 60/40 rear seat fold down to make floor-space equal to that of a small pickup (it's just not very tall).

Anyway, with the MC, I get to keep my F150. We've needed a third vehicle and I just can't part with the old '93- it's only got 68,000 miles on it. So, alas, a traitor I am.

But, I'm sure you all felt the earth shake when I stepped onto the showroom floor of a Chevy dealership. My mom nearly had a heart-attack. Armageddon is near!!!

And, yes, TTL is still $1000 at least!! Talk about sucking- Oklahoma is "NOT" OK!

Neal (2 out of 3 aint bad is it?)

Nomo: At least you still have A Ford! Besides youll own another ford down the road. I heard that Ford is supposed to redo their F-150 in 2001 or 2002 anyways....

Mumbly, peace. I agree that this is exactly what this board is all about. Let's just bury the hatchet and move on. OK?

Redryder,

Consider it buried, I hope and plead with everyone else to do the same. I for one am a very opinionated person and should appreciate everyone else as the same. Hey by the way not sure were you live but make sure to take a look in the Events Threads for some of the Rallys coming up.

Nomo,

My wife got a LS about a month ago and I have to say that her car is one of the coolest things that I have every gotten to ride in (she wont let me drive it).
