For those of you interested in the prices of the 2000's...when I ordered my loaded 99 F150 XLT Extended Cab 4x4 a couple of months ago, the dealer told me I could wait a couple of months and order a 2000 F150 with the same options for roughly $2000 more than the 1999. The overhead console would have been nice, but the huge center console between the captains chairs has plenty of space, so I'm glad I ordered the 99 and saved two grand.

------------------
99.5 F150 X-Cab 4x4 SB, 5.4L V8, Deep Wedgewood Blue/Dark Graphite, Off-Road Pkg, 3.73 Limited Slip, Tow Pkg, Captain's Chairs, CD, Airaid, Luvernve Stainless Nerf Bars, Lund Frontrunner bug deflector, Lund Eclipse taillight covers, Lund Eclipse side window covers.

Just found this bit of info on the internet, at Daily Truck News, so I figured I'd pass it on.

For the third consecutive year, Ford Motor Company is holding the line on its average vehicle prices for Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury products in the United States, as well as offering several all-new vehicles. The average suggested retail price of the 2000-model Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles will be flat compared with present prices for comparably equipped models.

Although prices have changed on specific vehicles (both up and down), average prices on 2000 models are essentially the same as 1997, '98, and '99 models.

For the 2000 model year, key equipment has been made standard on many Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicle lines, simplifying the vehicle ordering experience and adding significant customer value.

Truck buyers visiting Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury showrooms in the 2000 model year will find a wide range of equipment that has been made standard.

For example, on Econoline, Expedition, and F-Super Duty lines:
-- Additional equipment made standard on Expedition includes: adjustable brake and accelerator pedals (activated by an illuminated panel-mounted switch which operates a small 12-volt motor on the pedals, the adjustment offers up to 3 inches of linear travel) and stowable 3rd row seat.
-- Additional equipment made standard on Econoline includes: air conditioning, 4-wheel ABS and the Light and Convenience group (cargo van) and Remote Keyless Entry and Power Mirrors (RV van).
-- Additional equipment made standard on F-Super Duty includes: 4-wheel ABS (Lariat models), HD Battery and Tow Hooks (all models), Spare Tire/Carrier (all pickups) and Floor Mats (XLT only).

Thumbs up

I also saw on one of the Ford sites that the new suv, that big one they are putting out, would have the option of a diesel engine. And I found some pictures of the F150 Supercrew. This one is the only one I could get to post over here.

mkrieger message: from the Daily
News, says Ford is going to hold
its prices for 00 and would
"generally" be the same as 98 and
99 model yr.
I ordred a 00 4x2 150 Lariet S/C
with 5.4, captain chairs, tow pack
and 2 tone paint and compared to
the 99s my truck will cost $315.00
more. I haven't gotten up with the
dealer as to see what made the
price change.

I do think its just Ford Motor Co
trying to wrink some more money
out of us.
I do know that the Expeditions
went up 2% overall, so that would
make my Lariet about 1.5%
increase, give or take a few
tenths of a %. When i get the make
sheet and pricing i'll let every
one know where the increase came
from.
Take Care, DC

Cool

Dogcam,

For your $315 you're getting a grab handle on the driver side . Don't forget the overhead console, and a new back seat.

I may be getting key pad entry, over head console and bigger tires, steel chrome rims 17" and losing alum rims, but i feel FMC is still squeezing us truck people just because of its popularity.
I am no chevy fan, but i took out a new C-1500 Silverado, loaded, believe its selling as a 00,5.3 290 hp and it ran like HE__ ! i didn't even ****er with the salesman on a price, but he said he would sell it for about $1400 less than what my buying my new 00. By the way these chevys are starting to get really nice interiors in them, this one had climate control and Bose sound system.....
But i am still a Ford Boy!!
Take care, DC

Just picked up a postcard showing the new F-150 Super Crew. Sharp looking truck. Here are the features:

Standard 4.6L Triton V-8 engine (optional 5.4L Triton V-8 engine).

First truck under 8500 lbs. GVWR sold in America to offer four full-size doors and a full rear-passenger compartment.

Same overall wheelbase length as the Ford F-150 SuperCab short bed model.

Offers a 5 1/2 foot bed.

When Ford comes out with a Crew Cab/Super Cab that seats nine and has a three foot bed, would that still be a pickup truck?

Why not eliminate the bed altogether and call it an expedition?

I made a trip down to my local Ford dealer and made a copy of a page in there little black 3-ring binder and thought this might help someone in my same situation. They don't have the new pricing yet but have started ordering the 2000 models already. They let me spec one out like I wanted and placed the order (with no obligation to buy when it arrives in September). Anyway, here is the text from the page that I copied....
