new tundra

went to bass pro shop today with a buddy of mine and there was a lil tundra gig setup, one hooked up to a trailer with 10,000 lil lbs and a one with out one. i took it for a test drive with the 10,000 and what a piece of crap. couldnt get traction off the line, it had crappy all terrain on a 2wd towing that much if i wanted to get out of my own way for some reason i couldnt cause it would just spin. theres a 2 second delay on the throttle from idle and the shifting for towing was way too soft in my opinion, those clutches slipping like that only a matter of time before by by tranny. only decent thing was brakes but i got on em moderate and startin to slide wtf? lol, anyways there was a extended cab with the new supercharger and i told the guy whats the single cab run he said high 13s and i said the lightning ran low 13s stock and an way older truck. he said oh that out dated thing, yea that out dated thing will still win try again in another 10 years. but just thought i'd share my crappy test drive. sry for so long

Anyone who actually tows 10,000 with a half ton is out of their mind. The truck would perform poorly no matter which make.

Well now you know why they only sold 6K units in October, even worse than that, the Titan posted that it sold a 1000 units..Ford led the pack at somthing like 43K units. I think the Tundra is going to have a rough year on its hands. The Ram and F150 are going to be the best selling trucks in 09.

I AM a ford fan, however, I saw a short wide regular cab 4x4 tundra today that looked like a beast. I really liked the look of it.

hey this is funny i went to the Florida Sportsman Fishing Show at the Fair Grounds and they had the Tundras all over the place.

The show sucked and every time i walked by one of the tundras the guy would ask me if i was intrested. I got annoyed and told the man to show me a place on the truck that i could kick and not have something fall off. He didnt respond...

I like the Tundra's I pass by about 10 or so a day in my FX4 ... The only thing I dislike about the Tundra is that it is really overpriced for what you get... Thats why I stick With FORD..

I think it will be Ford and Chevy, Dodge just changed out their rear suspension to..........................coil over. Thats sad, I don't think anybody that will do anything with their truck would buy that.

More like Ford and Toyota. Both the Ram ( albiet nice ) and Chevrolet ( including GMC ) will have to have miracle happen ( bailout? ) in order to undo the damage done.

In other words, they are ALL going to tank it this year.

You really think that Toy will be able to hold a candle to Ford? Lord knows I would love to see the numbers on a Ford vs. Toyota truck compatitoin.

If GM and Chrysler fold, ford can't be that far behind. You think?

No, I don't think that Toyota will be able to hold a candle to Ford, sales numbers wise. My statement is that they will all suffer from sales of trucks going down. Ford and Toyota will the ones that will suffer "less" ( if there is such a thing )

Ford seems to have planned much better for something like this, meaning they aren't as bad as the other "Domestic" brands. While Toyota never planned on achieving the sales #'s of the F150 and Chevrolet. They also have most of their eggs in their more "efficient" vehicles.

If GM and Chrysler do end up folding, I'm willing to bet that seeing the vast amount of unemployed people North America, the government will basically have no choice but to try and keep Ford afloat.

Just my opinion of course....

They all have been suffering for a little bit now, especially since the summer gas crunch.

I think ford's numbers remain in the lead becasue of their product. Toyota becasue of their reputation (even though the tundra is not doing to much for the rep of their trucks). Dodge has been getting by on looks, that came to an end with the economy and people needing their trucks to last longer and not nickle and dime them. Chevy cause they are "cool."

I just hope all this madness turns around.
