What does that have to do with anything, I didn't say he would have lost against Bush I am saying he has close to the same amount of votes. Therefore the country is no more united with obama than it was with Bush, other than the fact that most conservatives will support him because he is our president.

It was supposed to be a funny McCain quote. He said it during the debate when Obama kept comparing him to Bush.. ah, Never Mind..

The point of all this is the people's message was Loud and clear. They were ready for change. Obama beat McCain (The Democrats beat the Republicans) in THIS Election, pretty handidly.

The last 2 Elections were obviously Much Closer. This one was decided by a large Margin... (7.5 Million, 7%)

In comparison, Bush only beat Kerry by 2%.

PERCENTAGE of Those that Actually Voted is the Fair way to compare these elections as it compensates for any changes in the population over the last 4 years..

Bush vs Al Gore was

47.8% to 48.38% (yes, Bush lost that popular vote)

Not since Clinton beat Dole by 9% has the margin been so large...

You need to look at another map Jim

I wish I could find that one again. It was different from any I have seen. Usually they just show the states as either blue or red. This one showed each state by county. For instance, most of CA was red, only the coastline was blue. It was that way in all states. Just the highly populated areas, big cities were blue, which was enough in some states to carry it. I just found it interesting.

obama got 52% of the vote. he didnt get 48% of the vote. it was hardly a landslide. it hardly united the country. yes he won, but why the need to make it more than it was? be happy your guy won, but dont try to pass it off as something it isnt.

Don't feel bad, my vote never counts. My state goes Dem every election and I vote Rep. Now I am curious if a black Repuplican runs next election, will some of these states switch too Republican?? It almost seems like this will be the new trend in politics. They will now try to impliment different races and sexes to try and win elections. It's really sad, becasue most of the time the better man loses becasue people have no idea what they are voting for
