Did I just get taken for a ride or what?

I ordered some Royal Purple power steering fluid from cimotorsports.net for $7.99 a bottle two weeks ago. The picture represents what I am buying is in a quart bottle. Most of the other places I was shopping only offered it on 12oz bottles that was right around $4.00 each. So price and picture looks like I'm getting what I'm paying for. I'm thinking I'm getting 3x as much at 2x the cost.

My first order was for 4 bottles.
4 bottles .... = 31.96
Shipping cost: $7.23
for a total of : $39.19

Three days after my order I ordered a second order of the same for another total cost of the same $39.19 for what I think I'm getting, 32oz bottles.

Last week Friday I get a call from them asking if my double order was correct or was it an error. I said yes I found I needed more than I originally ordered. I then said that I had been trying to call them because I never got tracking for either order and was wondering when I was going to receive it. The guy I was speaking to said that my first order had already shipped and that when they came across my second order they wanted to confirm that it was correct.

Today I received my order, one box containing 8 12oz bottles of RP power steering fluid WTF. The picture and price don't match what I got. I know their site doesn't say how much is in one bottle... but I could have got a case of 12 12oz bottles for half of what I paid... very misleading The 12oz bottles look totally different. And the fact that I was lied to when I was told that my first order had already shipped. What did FedEx open the two boxes and combine them into one to make more room on the truck

12oz bottle...................................32oz bottle as shown on their site

Should they have any obligation to make this right?

I am thinking about doing that but I already spent $14 dollars for shipping and I still need to ship this back. I can fit it in a usps flat rate box. So it looks like I will be out around 21 or 22 dollars for what I feel is an error on their part for misrepresenting the product they sold me.

Weigh the bottle, it says on their site that the bottle should weigh 2 lbs.

Then call them, be polite, go at it with the belief that it was an honest mistake, give them the opportunity to make it right. If they don't, then you can get pissed.

Drive down to the store and buy exactly what you want to avoid online ordering crap. This is what i do for most stuff unless i cant find it in stores or the price difference is ridiculous.

The total weight is 12.5 ozs. A full quart of the RP 5w-20 weighs 1lb 15.6 ozs. Maybe they are calling it 2lbs for the shipping weight. I'm gonna give them a call today to see what they say. Hopefully I can get someone to answer the phone. I tried to call twice since I placed my order, trying to check status because they never sent me tracking info but nobody would answer the phone.

If you don't get results from cimotorsprots, call Royal Purple and they may make it good for you. They are in Houston. They might not want a distributor making their product look sleazy.

Good news.

I spoke with them a few minutes ago and they realized it was an error in the listing. So they are sending me 14 more 12 oz bottles to offset the difference
