I would go here and get AVG anti-virus free edition. And if you used spybot you won't get any registery changes without your permission.

I work in IT for a living. i'm not going to say that you dont have a virus but it sounds more like spyware. I would download, install and update spybot search and destroy.

I agree with pmason, sounds like it is spyware, not so much a virus.

not true my friend. everyone in my business (tv, film, etc) owns a mac. I personally have a mac laptop for work and PC desktop at home, but only use the PC for taxes once a year. I actually dont know many people(besides my gf who wants to get rid of her pc for a mac) who own PCs anymore. Even when I visit my college buddies in Maine (middle of nowhere), i noticed are starting to convert.

Mac is NOT immune to viruses, and there most definitely are viruses out there for them. one of my co-workers just had one on her mac 2 days ago. also, most college labs are atleast half mac.

Oh, and i studied computers (PC) in college(it was my Minor), so I know very well how computers and software work.

So, in conclusion to those who are afraid of change and different technology, every time you turn on your tv, what you are watching was made by Mac users.

Thanks for the replys guys. The link simple man sent me must be fore a different "version" of this crap. Because I don't have any of those suggested processes running, even after I click the pop up. I'v looked at many detailed answers to this thing, and almost all of them involve something different. I don't think I can resort to restore just yet, I will give it a little more time.

What i'v been doing is getting the crap system mechanic finds (iolo) and deleting it, and almost all of it shows up in my temporary internet files. I think a program known as brastk.exe is spawning these stupid little files so after I delete them they just come back. It's not really slowing down my computer, just really stupid to watch that dumb little pop up.

If I ever find someone who makes this ****, im gonna sock em right in the face.

2006 Results for platform usage in business applications.

* Linux -- 1 percent
* Mac OS X -- 1 percent
* Windows XP -- 71 percent
* Windows 2000 -- 20 percent
* Windows “other” (primarily Windows 95, 98 and ME) -- 7 percent.

everyone in my business (tv, film, etc) owns a mac.

Walk into huge movie studios such as Pixar or Disney. They all use PC's because a Mac couldn't even dream to touch the rendering power of a PC. Big shots use PC's, little hipsters use Macs.

I personally have a mac laptop for work and PC desktop at home, but only use the PC for taxes once a year.

Oh hey look, one more thing a Mac can't do.

I actually dont know many people(besides my gf who wants to get rid of her pc for a mac LOL ANOTHER BRAINWASHED CONVERT) who own PCs anymore.

Just because you hang out in a clique of Mac owners and doesn't mean the entire Earth's population owns one.

Even when I visit my college buddies in Maine (middle of nowhere), i noticed are starting to convert.

Prove it. Ha, wait. Check out their market share chart. Don't worry I'll show it to you below.

Mac is NOT immune to viruses Yeah that's what I said..., and there most definitely are viruses out there for them. Not any worth wasting time on. one of my co-workers just had one on her mac 2 days ago. also, most college labs are atleast half mac. Prooooove ittttt.

Oh, and i studied computers (PC) in college(it was my Minor), so I know very well how computers and software work.

Then you should very well know what Moore's Law is, correct? How long have you been out of college while pretty much exclusively using Macs?

So, in conclusion to those who are afraid of change and different technology that nobody uses, every time you turn on your tv, what you are watching was made by Mac users.

Nice, lets use fallacies now shall we... nice way to make a massively blind generalization.
BY THE WAY.

Here's Mac's quarterly market share chart. Oh s***, 3%. I'm scurred now.

accounting departments, yes, cartoon artists, probably, but as far as production goes, have proof? So you are saying Musicians, Directors, Producers, etc, are little hipsters?

Mac can do it, i just prefer to keep my finances on a desktop at home, not something I bring to work. also, i need to have SOME use for it

Just because you hang out in a clique of Mac owners and doesn't mean the entire Earth's population owns one.

i never said everyone owns one, I did say that most people in my business own one, and I am seeing more people use them for personal reasons. my point was that they are becoming more popular as people stop being so afraid of new technology.

obviously I have no physical proof, but if you google it, you will see tons of articles on colleges switching to Mac

3.5 years out of college, 2.5 years exclusively mac. I am familiar with Moore's law why?

who is the one making massively blind generalizations? the person stating that mac is being used more than some may think, or the person who thinks Mac is obsolete and quoting business-only applications without proof of where the numbers were found? computers are definitely used for more than just business.
Obviously PCs still dominate the computer world, but Mac is not as rare as you may think whether you want to believe it or not. if you did research on current Mac use, you would see it is growing, and has been since 2007. it is probably a couple of decades away from catching up with PC.

Malwarebytes can get rid of stuff Spybot S&D can't find to save its life. That's the best cleanup utility I've seen yet, followed by SuperAntiSpyware. Spybot is a distant 3rd and Ad-Aware is almost useless these days. Bad as it is, the antispyware module in AVG is as good as those 2 now.

Look at the market share chart it come up to 2008 and is still less then 3.5%. It is growing, but just barely, mac will not catch up until they change to be more like windows.
