Angry Computer Virus Help!

I have got a red circle with a white x on my start bar, and it always pops up saying:

"Your computer is infected!

Windows has detected spyware infection!

It is recommened to use special antispyware tools to pervent data loss. Windows will now download and install the most up-to-date antispyware for you.

Click here to protect your computer from spyware!"

It comes up in a little bubble that looks almost like a windows notification but it's not. I have some serious virus protection and the first time I clicked on this my Iola Anti-virus intercepted and deleted a dangerous trojan.

I'v looked on about 25 different sites and forums and this popup can be different therefore taking different techniques to get it off. All I have seen is how to get it off if you actually have the trojan. I'm not yet infected, yet the pop up is still there. I also read that spyaxe developed this as a way to get you to buy there stuff, and they install things on your computer, yet nothing new is installed, therefore I don't know what to take off. Other sites just say how to delete files and folders to get rid of it. This trojan has been known to mess up your registry so I really want to get it off. The popup is really annoying as well. I currently am running Iolo Anti-Virus, Ad-Aware, Hijack This, and Ad-Watch.

If anyone has had any experience with this, please reply!!!

Thanks

You should go through every process running on your system and figure out what should and should not be there. You need to look in many different places including the registry and do lots of research on what you are shutting off or removing. There are a lot of steps involved in manually cleaning a virus off of a computer so I could not begin to write it all out here. If you can get to this website and post a message then you are still able to search on google for manually cleaning a virus and get "step by step" directions. Otherwise, you will either have to get some software to try and clean it or perform a restore of your system. It's always nice to have a back-up image of your system to turn to when needed.

Google Malwarebytes, download the free version, run a quick scan, let it remove what ever it wants, reboot, do a full scan. For $25 you can buy the pro version that offers full time protection, the free version only cleans up after the fact.

I've never had this virus but I'll try to help you out.

To find the name of the program:

1. Start windows task manager
2. Go to the processes tab
3. Sort by CPU usage
4. Take note of what programs are already using the CPU
5. Click on the window (or whatever makes it do something)
6. See what programs are using the CPU that weren't before
7. Look up these programs to see what they are and what the do
8. Delete the program that shouldnt be there

Hope this helps

Let Window's Update do its damn job. You're probably one of the people with SP1, and you have NO idea how vulnerable you are.

Malwarebytes is awesome. Also make sure that you install all recommended Windows updates.

Exactly.

It's not that Macs are magically "immune" to viruses, it's just that since NOBODY owns Macs, nobody would waste their time making a virus for it when the yields from compromising PC's are SO much higher.

Besides, pretty much all mac users don't have even the slightest clue nor give a flying ******* about how computers or software work. Mac users need everything spoon fed to them. I mean hell, one of their commercials was just interviewing a bunch of people WHO CAN'T PLUG IN A USB CABLE complaining about how complicated PC's are. Give me a break.
A computer isn't a magical box retards.

I would also like to point you to this informative article about One thing PC users can do that Mac users can't...

If I understand you correctly you clicked on the pop-up?

What version of Windows are you using? What type browser and version of said browser are you using?
