The people who put this on the bill should be named and shamed.

maybe they should use a portion of that to make sure the bankers (the tools that got us into this mess) fall from grace without their golden parachutes & put them & their families on the street...of course, the same could be said of these dirtbag politicians...

LOL

It's a good thing Toyota doesn't sell houses, jack up interest rates on creditors because they have too much credit, finance people who can't pay them back, grossly overpay their executives, create fake fuel supply concerns to manipulate the market- thus driving up the cost of everything making it to the store shelves on the back of a diesel powered truck, whose fuel is at a premium given the astronomical cost of diesel fuel.

Granted, buying a Toyota may not help the US economy overall- but, it will help Toyota workers in San Antonio. They're Texans too, so at least the money helps people in my state...

Nah- just kidding. This country is in "the buck", and it's got nothign to do with what kind of truck we drive. It has everything to do with greed.

All we can do is hope the recession takes it easy on us, in our most vulnerable position...

Just remember, all this BS started on Bush's watch. When Obama's the President- I don't want you guys blaming him for the recession.

You're such a blubbering idiot it makes me chuckle.

You literally have no clue what you are talking about. None.

All you care about is your own self interest. You could care less what effects the choices you make have on anyone but your precious little, err, scratch that, LARGE self.

Now, that aside, your comment about this STARTING on Bush's watch?! HAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Do you have even the SLIGHTEST clue what is going on, or what caused it? I'll give you a hint: it started when CLINTON was President and HE and a LIBERAL congress passed legislation about banking, regulations, and mortgages.

Now do yourself a favor and get caught up to where the rest of us already have been for quite some time.

No, I just haven't had time to get back on the internet since yesterday.

Anyhoo...

I knew you'd slither, I mean walk-upright out from under your rock when I mentioned "Toyota". I think you have a scanner for this website- and when the word "Toyota" pops up, you get a text message on your Smurf telephone, and you run and log in to talk crap. Very predictable. It’s just like an idiot, to resort to name calling when his ideals/assumptions are challenged. What's next Lumi, are you going to talk about my mother? Are you going take your ball and go home?

You've got your opinion, I've got mine. So, let me ask you this. If Republicans thought the deregulation passed by Clinton's administration was so wrong, why with nearly six years of a Republican controlled White House, Senate, and House- were the measures not overturned? If all the Republicans saw this matter as foolhardy, why not stop it?

I'll answer that for you... They didn't care.

Real Republicans only care now because it's an election year and they want your vote- so now they’ll “swing into action”. We got here because banks got greedy, as well as the investors on Wall Street, and turned the screw one too many times on the regular Joe's. As a result, the price of everything went up (and, yes- you can trace that back to the rise in fuel costs) backs were broken and Joe’s are losing their houses and jobs, and now you're witnessing the results.

Today, many Pubs they think throwing Wall Street a life preserver is going to have a reciprocal affect on the average American, and the economy. If this was 2005 instead of 2008, there would be no talk of a $700B bailout, nor would you have seen a “stimulus check” or the possibility of another one.

I don't care how much you try to wiggle- the FACT of the matter is, Clinton left the White House in January 2001- it is October 2008. You mean to tell me nothing could be done about this impending crisis over six of the last eight years? I say six because the Republicans (rightfully so) lost the House and Senate almost two years ago- so I'll give credit on that. Nevertheless, you can’t tell me Republicans have been powerless to affect change in all that time- if they really thought change was needed.

Some financial analysts and Bill Clinton himself have said in recent days that were it not for deregulation, the economy would probably be in worse shape than it is now.

You’ve got to get past sound bites Lumi, and really look at what’s going on. Stop believing everything Ann Coulter and Sean Hannidy tells you and decide for yourself- rather than succumbing to “groupthink”.

Now, what's this really all about? Are you upset because I have a differing opinion about some of the things that got our economy to where it is? Or- are you upset because I LOVE Toyota Tundra's and their inherent superiority over F-150's?

What's really bothering you?

So if your asking the question on why didn't the republicans do anything to change the impending crisis from 2000-2006, I ask you why didn't the Democratic Congress do anything in the last 2 years when the crisis was really showing it's head?
