Wow.. talk about not knowing what your talking about. It is voluntary to join the NRA. If you don't like there views, you don't join. Union membership on the other hand... I have this awesome job. I absolutely love it. I am in the union. I pay $45 a month in dues. The dues might go up to $75 a month because the greedy a holes don't have enough money to give to the democrat party. If we go on strike, we MIGHT get $150 a week. Boeing is on strike now (same union). They will eat up any strike funds. WE won't get squat. I have little choice. My dues go to support an organization that is diametrically opposed to every thing I believe in. Unfortunately, where I work NEEDS a union. The cheap skates aren't happy with 24% net profit on a $20,000,000 a year company. (one of 8 he owns). So yes, we need a bargaining tool. But why should I HAVE to pay dues that support the democrats? When especially when your intellectually honest, the democrats do far more to hurt the American worker than help. After all, capitalism is evil and they always want to increase taxes on businesses and "rich" people. The very people who employ everyone. You libs who are defending the union most certainly aren't in a union.. or your head is so far up the democrats butt that you can't see the light.

The Union, and that's all I know. Besides, I don't want to know where it goes.

It sure does look like a billion or so of it is going to underhandedly remove our choice not to join a union. Thanks...

You know what I mean. Besides, it's as clear as the intent of some of your threads.

Lol @ momalle for trying to compare a union to the NRA.

Not even close.

You can enjoy your guns 100% totally fine without ever joining the NRA.

Want to be a teacher in CA without being in the Union? NOT an option...you pay the dues even if you don't want to be in the union.

The mandatory "classes" all teachers have to take from time to time? Oh yeah, if you don't join the union you HAVE to pay $3,000~ OUT OF POCKET per class- NOT optional.

It's BS. My mom was a teacher for 32 years and was beside herself when it came to the BS the union did to force people to join and give them their money to do with it what they wanted.

Unions had their place about 100 years ago, not anymore...that is, unless you want to make damn sure all jobs that can be possibly outsourced out of the country are...bringing down countless companies along the way.

Oh well, I'm done on this endless discussion.

You can have a job without joining a union, you can even be a teacher without joining one, just not a public school teacher, so you do have a choice. Do you think you'd be able to enjoy guns as much without the NRA?

Either way, you do have a choice and what they AFL-CIO is doing is no different than any other group.

Can't agree 100%, but that's pretty close to the truth.

There are churches in the US that demand a certain percentage of your salary.
And you are a member of that church by choice. You believe in that particular faith and its tithing principles. If you decide you no longer want to contribute, changing churches is a lot easier than finding another job.

If someone asks some union represented workers if they hate the union they belong to, I bet they have trouble finding any, at least that's how it is at my job.

I have a total of about 14 years in unions pension plan. It would be pretty stupid of me to get a non union job and loose that. Best case is to change the union within. pretty unlikely.

People should have the right to vote for whoever, mixing politics & unions is not a good thing & in my opinion cannot work. Unions in some cases can do good things but can also be a big pain in the *** proctecting "workers" that have no buisness being employed as they are lazy etc.
