I was driving our 98 chevy on interstate 5, probably doing about 80. a small black bird came out of nowhere, smashed into the driver side rearview mirror and splattered all over the windshield, feathers flew everywhere. scared the chit out of me and got the truck dirty/disgusting.

I was landing a RV-6A once on a tiny airstrip and a wild turkey ran across the runway while I was flaring (>20 feet AGL) and I caught it out of my perhiphial vision and pulled back on the stick and flew right over it as ir ran almost 5-10 feet under me. Landed safely and kissed the ground once I shut down

Hen pheasant smacked the windshield of my Bronco while I was going 65mph. Scared the living **** outta me. She must of hit it just right not to break the windshield. Can't say the same for her though. I stopped and turned around to throw her in the ditch. Felt like a sack full of jello.

I hit an owl once right in the middle of my grille, one of it's eyeballs got lodged in there and was acting like a wind direction flag. gross and funny.

I hit a gull on the lower valance doing 90mph this summer. And now the bulbs in the fog light that was right beside the impact wont stay around, they just keep exploding.

I remember when I made that post. I was still in a neck brace, typing with one finger, and had plenty of oxycontin.

Why did you have to wake this one up? It's like torture remembering those days.

I hit a turkey that had just taken off from the road in my dad's 99 blazer doing around 55-60. the turkey smacked the windshield almost perfectly in the middle, destroyed the windshield. the head pretty much exploded on impact. blood and shat was all over me and in the blazer, and what was left of the head caught on the top of the roof and the turkey landed on the roof rack like i killed it and layed it there. i called the cops and the game warden to report the accident and the game warden took the bird with him. said it was going to be dinner.

Not counting a Bald Eagle, I have hit every single thing that flies in the continental United States in the F-150.
I hate when they roll up the windshield and get stuck under the visor, especially when they are still alive and they try to get me as I try to get them unstuck. Lost my tag brakcet once, zip-tied it on the grill, the next day an owl drilled it. Would have broken my grill if not for the tag. He watched me come up on him, too, then flew directly in front of my grill, it was snowing, and there was nothing I could do.
The worst hit, though, was a bat. It ripped one wing off and draped it across my mirror. Was kind of neat looking, like some sort of "Bat-Truck" mirror, but the other didn't match so I washed it off, lol.
I am afraid to go to Central America, I might hit a condor and do some real damage.

One of my friend's hit a hawk headon with his 04 F250 going about 70mph. It destroyed his factory grille. I also had an owl fly into the side of my truck a few weeks' ago coming home from work. Don't know how it happened just driving and heard a boom and looked out my passenger side mirror and saw the sucker fly about 20ft into the air behind me and land in the middle of the road. Didn't find any damage either.

When I was little my cousin and I were getting a ride from His mom to the movies in their old F150 NITE and we whacked a robin doing about 55 and it cracked the windshield in the upper passenger corner. I also remember my grandma hit a pheasant in her 92 camry. That was hilarious. My grandma shouted out OH **** and my little cousin started bawling her eyes out. There were feathers everywhere.
