Anti-Virus companies don't have to make viruses, they've already got enough to worry about. Plenty of people do for different purposes. Some are malicious but most of the time people do it 'because they can'.

So who makes them? Well I for one do, sometimes for fun, sometimes for a legit reason. It depends.

Also, to the OP, I've seen that virus before. It just keeps shutting down explorer.exe, which is really ****ing annoying, but if you have a bootable antivirus CD you might be able to take care of it.

Someone needs to take a baseball bat to their nut sack. Problem is, no one can ever find them because most of the time they are from different countries. I think this virus originated in China, or somewhere over there.

It's such a pain in the **** to get rid of. I sympathize with anyone who got infected by it.
First off, wrong. You wouldn't know.
Yeah what's the point of a largescale operation like that.
Agreed.
They're almost never from other countries, they're being smart and jumping off foreign IP's and Proxy servers so it'll make it LOOK like they live somewhere else but they don't.
It originated here...
That's the point.
Same here, but only the ones that seek out security flaws. If you click download something or open an attachment that looks phony and you get infected. I don't feel sorry for you. Think next time.

That's not what he said he used to get rid of it. Read his whole post. Out loud. Slowly.

I've got the Norton corporate edition through work and didn't get rid of it. You can try it but I think you'll be wasting your time. You might have to try to manually remove it or go with that Spyware Doctor link I posted earlier. That's what did it for me. I also had to run it a few times for it to finally get everything off.
