iTouch
So I really want to get a new ipod because mine is the old white one which doesn't even have a video screen. I really want to go ahead and get an iTouch because it seems like in the near future the video ipods will become obsolete just as my old non video ipod did and everything will become iTouch or some newer version.
However a 16gb iTouch is $400 and that is quite a lot of money for me. Anyone know if they are going to drop in price anytime soon or is it something that I am just going to have to bite the bullet on?
Thanks

i dont know if they will drop in price soon. They have no direct competition, so basically they are only fighting with their own iphone in sales. The iphone is down to 150, so i dont know.
I got an ipod touch back in february, and havent looked back since. Make sure you get the 2.0 upgrade if it doesnt come with it. It will turn your ipod into an iphone without the talk/txt/camera. It will literally do anything you can imagine, with wifi if needed for the task. i LOVE it. The email app, the aim app, the myspace app, the to do list app. The app storei s filled with probably almost 1000 apps by now, it's great.
I have an 8gig and it's fine for me.
BTW pandora radio and AOL radio are also apps you can download for free (some of the other apps cost $$) and you can listen to crystal clear internet radio as long as you have wifi.
And of course the safari web browser and youtube app are always great.
A++ from me, however after getting one, if you can float the $80+ bill for the iphone, you may want to get one. I know as soon as i can start affording a bill like that for an iphone, i will be getting one. With the 3G network you can use the internet unlimited for free anywhere any time.

Buddy of mine has the 8gb Itouch and it's fun as hell to use. He also has the upgrade the poster above talked about that allows the Itouch to basically become a small computer.
I've wanted one for a while but I can justify getting rid of my 2nd gen 8gb Nano. It's got like 1500 songs and just a tad over 1/4 full.

I just got a 80GB Zune, I already have 60GB used. the screen is bigger than the normal ipods but not bigger than the ipod touch. i bought a ipod about 11 months ago used it for four months and the stupid hard drive started to freeze all the time. and apple wanted to charge me like $120.00 to fix it. after that i will never buy another ipod. i am much happier with my zune than i ever was with my ipod
