Bill Kirchen of the Twangbangers played guitar for Commander Cody. Also check out Dave Dudley, C.W Mc Call and Conway Twitty. This is for the senior citizens on here!

I always liked Alan Jackson and Geroge Strait's stuff from the 90s. Also loved Aaron Tippin.

The truth being country music has primarily become formulaic drivel spewed forth by soulless Britney-esque pop models designed to be consumed by fourteen year old girls. Let us not forget the coterie of male singers, regurgitating perhaps the worst tepid pabulum ever written, engineered for the masses of consumers who are about as discerning and discriminating as the average squash. The aforementioned consumers apparently have an appreciation of music beginning and ending with what they are spoon fed by the marketing shills levitating just one rung above them near the bottom of the intelligence ladder.

A sign of the times is when you have a Versace clad “cowboy” like John Rich lecturing people on what it means to be country. I believe that the only thing this coke snorting oyster eating Lexus driving glitter boy is fit to lecture anyone on is the comparative distinctions between North Hollywood Sushi bars. I am sure, while frequenting such establishments, he likely regales the patrons with tales of busting young “broncs” down on the fruit farm from which he originated.

I digress.

There is one shard of positive light illuminating the dark dung pile now known as country music, that being the assurance that none of this bile will ever survive long enough to become classic. It is clear that this “music” has a shelf life equal to the attention span of the average teenager and once exceeded the refuse is quickly dispatched to the outhouse to be replaced by the latest nauseating, transparently contrived ,tripe issued forth by the great Dung Beatle known as the country music industry.
Well said.

Country music today...ain't.

I was sitting at a stoplight in Mt. Vernon, IL, earlier this week and Aaron Tippin's tour bus pulled out in front of me and headed on down the highway.

Yeah, I like most of what you all like. Dwight, Restless Heart, Exile, George Strait, Garth, The Eagles, Skynard, CCR, Rolling Stones, Allison Krauss, Don Williams, John Anderson, Mark Chestnut, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Gary Allan, Willie, Waylon, Johnny Cash, and the list goes on.

I really like this song I heard a while back on CMT. It's by Lady Antebellum, and it's called Love Don't Live Here Anymore.

Good stuff.
