I love his song about the drunk driver. It may be titled, "Don't Tell Mama I was Drinking"

If you have never heard Chris Knight's "Down the River", it is awesome. Very dark but awesome.

I'm gonna throw my couple of pennies in this thread...

Yeah, country these days ain't the country of old. But I would MUCH rather hear Jessica Simpson singing a song telling me to "Come On Over" than to hear some hip crap about knocking over a jewelry store and forcing your dentist to make a grill so that you can go pimp your ho... or shoot some cops... or whatever the hell else is out these days.

Is that even how "ho" is spelled?

Regardless of the state of country music, I still listen to it WAY before any other type of modern music. It is either AM talk radio or country.

And for the greenies... I utilizied all that space behind the stock radio and installed a hamster wheel. That little f'ker runs his *** off between 9 and 5 and generates enough electricity to power 3 radios. I sell the excess energy in the form of carbon credits at www.richardgere.com.

Join me, won't you? Save the planet, one hamster at a time.

Wasn't Richard Gere the guy who was in the urban myth? The one where he had a gerbil lodged in his rectum? If thats not where you were going, it was still friggin hilarious. If you had intended the Gere pun, then it was sheer genius.

Shines, that's what I like about you. You are as sharp as a tack.

Strait is the man, due to pure numbers.
I never really liked Garth.
B&D... some catchy tunes.

All of 'em bought their music. They didn't write it. They just sing it. The purists write it, sing it, produce it, promote it...

Heaven forbid they actually live it.
