I have a hard time associating the words informed and chance

So, you're saying screw the people who took a chance and hand out a get out of forclosure free card to the misinformed? That doesn't sit well with me.

We bought our house seven years go. There wasn't a buy a house coarse in school. We wanted to make sure that we did things properly so that we didn't end up in the position that some are finding themselves into today. We became informed. We had to learn this stuff ourselves, because there isn't some one who would have done it for us. All the resources are available to all people.

We live in a small, humble home that we can afford. Now, later and even if times get tough. We made sure of that.

You believe that we should pay for people who have been duped? That's kick in the pants to people like me who put in the extra effort to make sure that we didn't end up in trouble.

What would you like to do about it? Sit there and complain like a wimp? Just sit on the bench and take splinters up the capootie? All bark and no bite is what you are.

When there's a problem with the Union, you infiltrate it with people whom you know can make things right. The Union I speak of is the United States of America. We can make a difference if we do something. Windbagging and punching keys does nothing.

A few years ago I took a big loss in the market....WTF is my bailout check???

But I never once considered it the governments' fault and took my beating like a man and an American.

Being misinformed, is a byproduct of being ignorant. Ignorance stems from the lack of learning, and choosing to ignore the information that is readily available to anyone who chooses to obtain it. Then again, with liberals, its always someone else's fault. Isn't it?

HOLY CRAP! I think Stealth just made a paragraph! Eight sentences.

Now be it, the sentence was somewhat non coherent, but a paragraph nonetheless.

Have you ever heard the term "the pen is mightier than the sword"?

"The pen is mightier than the sword" is a metonymic adage coined by Edward Bulwer-Lytton. I wik'ed it...

Punching keys, is the modern day form of a pen. I communicate my thoughts to others. They process these thoughts, and make their own decisions. Something that I am not doing, is digesting the crap that our two party's systematically spoon feed us.

Amen brother. I gambled in the market, lost big, and eventually got it all back. Throw the cheats in jail (Worldcom, Enron) and let the rest of us sort out our own problems. I don't need a wetnurse to get through life.

Yep, the government should stay out of it, and not recognize the lifestyle that you are advocating.

If that is your belief and it works for you
My view is simple
I have very little compassion for the ignorant buyer who purchased well above their means. I have the same feeling about those who took out as much equity in their home as they were allowed and are now feeling the crunch.

I have a lot of compassion for the misinformed buyer who was duped by a shaddy loan agent which I have seen countless times over the years

and compassion for the informed buyer, who took a chance on rates not rising and got stuck with an ARM due to reasons beyond their control.
