hey not all of that's bad (just most of it)
there is a provision in there for the newbie first time owners (like me) to receive a one time $7500 tax credit.
as for the rest of it- i work my *** off to support myself and pay my bills--responsibly.
...and my tax dollars too, are paying for those who failed to use a bit of common sense with regards to their financial planning.

the provision is essentially an interest free loan, as it must be repaid over 15 annual payments- but it frees up some extra cash so I can 'support' the economy a lil bit more come April.

"Dumb asses"? Maybe. But I can't see someone who lost their manufacturing job with Ford (because sales are down) as a "dumb ***". You've got the "POS" and "SOB" part right, though. - Og

Job loss? Still not a viable excuse. I lost my job 5 years ago. My wifes job allowed us to get through We bought a house that we could afford on one income. We QUALIFIED for a much larger mortgage. Common sense told us we could not AFFORD it, hence we did not buy into the sub prime loans. SO those at Ford would qualify as dumb asses...

Besides, the bailout is mainly for the dumb asses who bought into sub-prime loans.

http://money.cnn.com/2008/07/30/news...Bush/index.htm

I went digging a year ago to see what I could find was at the root of Mortgage bank issues. Without listening to Fox, CNN, ABC etc. What I found was a policy Bush continued from the Clinton administration (A Home for everyone or some non-sense like that) that caused the majority of the issues with the Mortgage industry. A lot was fraud by people taking advantage of the policies that were put in place. I know for a fact that five years ago GA passed a law limiting the loans given to people who could not afford it and our glorious US government passed a law that voided that law and it was game on again!!! DIGGING THAT WHOLE DEEPER!!!

Like father like son ... it is the economy stupid and you cannot be pumping billions of dollars into foreign countries without it taking its toll on the national economy... You cannot give guarantee mortgages given to people who cannot afford it to begin with and that was basically what was the whole "a home for everyone" Yes, it kept the Housing Market growing when the economy was weak, but at what cost?

Couldn't agree more! Just add this to the already 480 Billion Dollar Deficit!!

I can't believe these guys call themselves Republicans!

Of course this is AFTER they've already spend Billions of dollars bailing out the Banks.

Blasphemy, everything is black and white !!

Too bad you can't buy compassion, a lot of guys around here would be driving up the cost of it.

Basically what you are saying is that you want to sit around in a wet diaper while sucking your thumb....and let taxpayers pay for it. Typical LIB!

And agin' Original Gangster, I said the bill was for stupid SOB's who bought more than they could afford... You want to dredge up the 1% of 1% who actually might need the bills assistance. The other 99.9999% who are receiving aid, are the dumb asses who you and I are paying for their ignorance. Are you really that blind? Serious, do you not see it?

I have no problems being compassionate...but being compassionate to the ignorant, is not something I care to delve into.
