Let's Talk Guns
Ok, i'm looking to get a pistol. All i've really had a chance to shoot was a Glock 22 (40 S&W) and a Taurus .40 (don't know model). I'm looking for something that isn't to expensive (i.e. 400ish preferably under). I'm not opposed to buying used, just don't even know what to look for. I looked at a Springfield XDM but again... $600 is out of my price range. Just looking for something to have a little target fun with and something I can carry too. Thanks in advance.

Kahr PM-9 with black slide.
While I love my XD-45, it is just too big for CC, especially during the summer.

i been thinkin about home protection. im in limbo between a ar15 of some sorts and a pistol grip pump shotgun. i could really make a mess with either one of those. problem is it may have to double as coyote control around here. think the ar15 would be better for the mutts myself lol.
my mom has a 380? i dont know my guns very well but thats the only one she has that hasnt jammed on her. brothers friend found out her little pink pistol saved him from having a 2nd butthole.

For home protection, I wouldn't use an AR-15. I have one, and it's great for long range, but think how many walls that thing is going to go through. For the house, I have a Mossberg 590 loaded with 00 buck. Talk about a hallway clearer.
I opine that you have to have one gun for each occasion... I have an AR-15 for long range competative shooting and light hunting, a Kimber Classsic .45 for competition, a Mossberg 590 12 GA as the home/ bear defense rig, a Ruger P-97 .45 for CC, a Browning Buckmark .22 for plinking, a Remington 700 .300 WM for hunting, and an SKS paratrooper carbine for fun, and as a "survival carry-on" since it has a folding stock and fits in a smaller bag (for when I'm flying- personally, not commercially). And lastly, a Ruger Redhawk .44 for an open carry back-up when I'm hunting or in the outdoors (for bears).

Damn good advice there. I have XD45c for CCW, Mossberg 590 with 00 buck I sleep with/home defense
another good one.. I would put that on par with the Mossberg 500 series, if not better ( I just like the 590, because I have the "mariner" edition that is SS)
I carry the Para Ordinance LDA7 .45acp round. I also carry a Walther PPK in .380, very light and safe. I also have a CZ-75 I picked up in Lebanon when I was in the Marines in the 80's. Love that one.
XD's are one of easiest guns to strip down there is. Lock the slide back, flip the disassembly lever, let slide go forward, pull trigger. DONE. I can have mine apart, cleaned, and put back together in less than two minutes.
