New here with a question?

Well everyone I decided to sign up. Been reading these forums for quite a spell and figured I'd get into the mix of things. 23 years old, MS resident, Ford Driver!!

As for me and ford, I've had 2. A 97 that i managed to blow up, and recently a 03. The 03 hasn't been a bad truck(97 stayed in the shop) so i've been very pleased with it. up until tonight, i've had no problems to mention.

So i guess since i'm new, i'll just bust out of the gates with my question.

Ford F150 S'crew, 4x4 5.4L
Today it rained for the first time in a while. Being i'm a compulsive deer hunter, i figured i'd run out to some local fields and check the movement after the rain. While trying to get to my destination the gravel road that i was running turned slick forceing me to put her in 4hi. Needless to say, somehow i got to the end of the road. 4 wheel drive worked great (first time in mud or at least to need it). Got out and decided to run over and wash it off "buckshot is like concrete when it sets up". Washed it off and was 3 houses from home when a grinding noise started in my front end, drivers side. Thinking it was a rock i shifted to reverse to see if i could sling it out. Undoubtly i did, but the grinding was bad. My brother said the last time he had in 4 wheel drive (Slick gravel road really didn't need it, i guess lol) it did the same thing. He was on a gravel road also, and just thought it was a rock hung up. Is there anything i should be worried about? Dont know much about 4x4's (first) but do know that mine has 2 years of payments left, and it is just too dang expensive for me to be tearing up.

Oh yeah, nice forums and i'm glad to be a member.

Welcome to the forums, hold on to your wallet is all I can say. You might get more topic-related responses if you cross-posted this over in the "Transmission" or "Other Powertrain" forums.

AS mentioned posting in a specific section will probably get better answers for such a question. Ford used Vacuum operated hubs and they seem to have their share of issues. Mines a 06 and has already had issues. Oh and welcome
