trust me, if ford made a 4 door ranger with 265 hp and a good payment, i would have one in my garage right now. my truck is 78% american. The 22% being the transmission made in japan. the rest is made and assembled in america. Not to sound like a jap loving *** hole, but what i dont like about ford is how much trash they have made in mexico. Jesus, in the escape, if you push or tug on the door handles, the whole door panel flexes in and out. I hate that. Thats what i love about the frontier, it feels so tight and well built inside. The escape is nice, it just feels flimsy sometimes.

Wow, that is exactly what I have been arguing about with SMIGGS. He will dismiss these facts though for some BS reason as he always does.

This is going to turn into a Union bashing threat quickly. There are many reasons American made vehicles are not as popular as they used to be. Workmanship and reliability to name a couple. When America starts building cars as reliable and economical as foreign car makers then I will consider buying them.

The idea that you have to buy American doesn't fly like it used to because foreign automakers now build their cars in the US... employing American workers! If American auto makers want to sell more cars they need to wake up and build a better product.

You clearly did not watch the video at all

To add Ford is equal with Toyota & Honda for reliability. Your facts were good about 10 years ago, but much has changed

I would rather have a Camry, Accord, or Maxima any day over a comperable Chevy or Ford. The reason being reliability, resale value, and workmanship.

Toyota "recently" broke into the full size truck market. They need more R&D to compete with American full size trucks. Foreign "cars" are leaps and bounds ahead of American "cars".

It doesnt matter if your Japenese vehicle is 100% made in the US. The profits go to a company based over seas in ANOTHER country. NOT OURS.

I did watch the slide show... I'm stating my opinion here. I'm not going to be "guilted" into buying American because "it's the right thing to do". When America builds a car I like as much as a Honda Accord I will consider buying it. When America builds a car that can compete with my Mitsubishi Evo in performance, reliability and price I will consider buying it. Until then I will not be shamed by American auto loyalists because they say buying foreign vehicles cost US jobs.

My buddy has a '07 Frontier King Cab with 6 speed, 4x4, and NISMO offroad package. It's a freakin' blast to drive with that awesome DOHC v6. It's a sick truck.

Him and I just put 2 Alpine Type-Rs, 800 watt MTX amp, Pioneer Avic-D3, Bluetooth adapter for the Avic... I liked how hard everything came off... showing how solid the interior is. Putting it back together was a breeze though. But there are NO creaks, unlike my F150! Which REALLY ticks me off.

The new Frontiers are really nice. Not to mention the 6 speed is smoother, and can tow 2x more than my F150... which really pisses me off! Plus it's got the 4 seats, and 4x4 with the manual...

I love driving that truck.

Lucky me, I get to take it to Rochester next week.

Is it OK that Ford builds cars in Mexico to cut costs? Are they using US workers to build those cars in Mexico? I guess because GM is based in the US that makes it OK. The Chevy Aveo being designed and built in Korea is OK with Chevy loyalist. The American auto makers may employ more "Americans" and have a broader influence on the American economy, but they still "outsource". American automakers are going broke for a reason... they need to catch up with the times sooner than later or they will go bankrupt.

Evo's are not reliable unless things have changed drastically. I used to be into racing mitsubishi eclipses and the 4g63 motor was tough but it used to have some serious issues when modded to high horse power levels. The trannys were crappy also unless rebuilt to handle power. I guess stock they can be considered somewhat reliable. I also had the 420a which was a chrysler motor in a mitsubishi eclipse. It was the non turbo eclipse. I built the motor and added a turbo kit and I had nothing but problems. And I wouldnt consider a 285hp car that costs almost $30k a good deal. Dont get me wrong I still like the evo's for what they are but I would much rather get a 03 cobra for a lot less money and a lot more horse power.

We are not discussing every last car made, we are discussing the % of the vehicles a company makes and what % are made here. GM & Ford still dominate in that statistic and employ more Americans than the other companys. Pretty cut & dry
