I know that it's happening. It doesn't need to happen. There are many alternatives to stealing for ones survival. This country has seen much, much worse than we have now and were able to maintain a better semblance of dignity.

Og, I get the impression from the way you post that you're a good person. When you say that at one time people stole for fun and now they steal to survive, it sounds like an excuse. I believe that it's excuses like this that have played a large part in why the country is the way it is today.

I see the coutry as being in a "give a man a fish mode" when it would be to all of our benefit for it to be in a "teach a man to fish mode".
