Is McCain Pro Choice?

It sounds like they're "discussing" this issue as if they have a "Choice" to me..

MANCHESTER, New Hampshire (CNN) -- Republican presidential candidate John McCain, when asked Wednesday what he would do if his 15-year-old daughter Meghan became pregnant and wanted an abortion, said it would be a "family decision."

"The final decision would be made by Meghan with our advice and counsel," McCain said, speaking of himself and his wife Cindy.

"Obviously I would encourage her to bring, to know that baby would be brought up in a warm and loving family, but the final decision would be made by Meghan with our advice and counsel."

How can you be against Pro Choice, yet discuss your "choices" in your own house???

We all know we have to vote for the Lesser of the Two Evils, but let's face it. They're BOTH Liberals...

In my opinion, there are a LOT more important issues that need to be addressed right now than the abortion issue. I'm basically conservative, but I can live with either stand on abortion.

Abortion is a religious issue. Last I looked the Constitution only guarantees religious freedom, it does not mandate religion. If we mandated religion, we would be no better than the Islamic countries.

How would you want him to answer the question? What would your reply be to your 15 year old daughter? I read his reply as sitting down and talking to his daughter about the situation. Looking at the options for the family, his daughter, and the baby. There's adoption as an option as well. Should he have said that there would be no discussion?

I would hope that I would sit down with a pregnant daughter and have a discussion about the circumstances and the options at hand. By saying there are no options, that may not be true. Who's to say the 15 year old wouldn't run off and do something completely rediculous like getting an abortion that may not be "legal" or safe. Sounds like he was wanting to educate his daughter in a situation she may not know much about.

If you want to see the picture, put that four letter f word in instead of the stars.

We are stuck with 2 people to choose from. I don't like the 2 choices, but I will choose what issues are more important to me. Life is about choosing the lesser of 2 evils, this is no different

I think it's funny that people like HBibbs seem to think that one republican will be just like the one before him.

At least people who have problems with Obama can actually cite specific things Obama has said and done, not just say "he'd be as bad as [insert politician here]."

I think it enforces the idea that 'liberals' only listen to how the feel and don't actually think things out logically.

In one thread you say McCain is a liberal. In this one you say McCain will be 4 more of Bush. It can't be both... if McCain is Liberal his policies differ from Bush's; unless you think Bush is also a Liberal.
