Gas Rations - A Reality

What a mess this would be. I think we're headed there in the near future.

The American people have no reason to believe we will face gas shortages in the near future. With the Amount of money the oil companys are currently making you can be assured as long as you have cash they will have gas.

Morgan Stanley and their analyst are to blame for this mess. They are striking fear in the market by saying what they "think" oil will do. If they would just **** and let the market work prices will fall as will the fears of the American people. I would not be surprised to learn at all that Morgan Stanley has their hand in the oil companys pockets as a small thank you for these outrageous prices

We had gas shortages back in 1973 and 1978, allotment's of gasoline to station's were on a monthly basis. I was driving a tanker truck for Texaco back then. Ya'll guy's are probably too young to remember!

No, I'm not. I was working for a company that owned 3 refineries. It was all a mess created by the goverments stupid price controls and interferring.

It's amazing to see, on a daily basis, the power of speculation. What a friggin' ride. - Og

The thing that pisses me off is that we defended Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Iraq and we are getting screwed. There is supposedly a big meeting with the Saudis and Kuwait to talk about the surging oil prices, but they are already giving negative signs that oil will drop. This is what you get for helping others..

I wish the Speculators would start speculating on 70 dollars a barrel, they never seem to speculate on lower prices..

I agree, and Morgan Stanley recently had to borrow a large sum from the FED & foreign sources. With money tight they are looking to all avenues of income. Getting in bed with the oil companys probably seemed like a sure thing. I wonder what the end conclusion was when congress met with the CEO's of the oil companys and questioned the quickly rising fuel prices. Doesnt seem like the situation has stopped, if anything it is much worse than before they met

I heard that if the speculators mind their own damn business, oil would hover around $50 to $55 a barrel for this day in time. What a rip. - Og

And they have figured out how to skirt the law in the process. Honestly, I think their actions are completely unethical.

Yes, arab oil embargo's caused by the major oil companies having their hand's on the "valves" controlling the flow! 1973 gasoline went from 29 cent's @gal for regular to around 50 cent's @gal. in about 6 month's and has been rising ever since.
