Have you tried changing the bats in the remote?

I have heard of bats in the belfry but not bats in the remote.

Hate to say it, but RCA has not made reliable TV's for quite a few years now. They are now bottom of the barrel.

Agreed. Ever since they got sold to the Chinese. Place I deal with, a mom and pop store, used to carry RCA as their main brand. Won't even carry RCA any more. Now their main brand is Panasonic. They are also authorized warranty repair provider for most brands. Pannie is the brand with the least problems they see.

ok, its not the buttons on the TV, not the batts on the remote, ima probably call RCA and see what they tell me because i am so tired of it changing channels by itself, its just so frusterating, i was thinking about messing with it myself but am scared i will simply just screw it up

Look at the back of the TV and get me the MODEL #, it will be on a white sticker..

Try unplugging the TV for an hour or so. When you plug it back in, it might work normally. Worked for me when I had the mystery channel change problem a long time ago. Unplugging it for a few seconds did not fix it, but leaving the plug out for longer did. Can't explain it, but it worked.

Can't remember the TV brand; might have been an RCA but it was in the days before HD.

well i had the tv unplugged for a whole weekend and it still did the same thing, GJ Screw the serial number is m50wh725

hmm.. only thing i can think of, if your up to it, get in the set and unplug the front panel controlls...
