To me this has absolutley nothing to do with race. I'd feel the same way if he were white or even if he were a she. My biggest concern is his LACK OF EXPERIANCE that a lot of people in this country seem to be ok with overlooking because they hate Bush. I'm all for electing the first black man, the first woman, the first guy who wrote a book called "Unsafe At Any Speed". I'm all for it as long as they show that they have some practical experiance that proves that they can do the job. So far, I'm not seeing it. McCain is hardly the righ man for the job in my opinion. I don't think that he has much of a chance because of the (R). He has experiance though. We can look at what he's done, and in many cases cringe, but it's experiance. I don't see what benefit people think they are going to get electing Obama other than fingering their noses at the republicans. In the big picture what does fingering their noses at the republicans really do for the country? I understand where you're coming from Witt, but- is there a job one can have that would truly qualify them to be President? Someo woudl assume being Governor would be a logical stepping stone, and whiel Reagan and Clinton did well as Presidents- George didn't do as well as either of his presidential forebearers. So, all this stuff I hear stated about him being unqualified, to me is unsubstantiated. There is no job that qualifies you to be President. Not CEO, not Governor, Nor does beign a flag officer (General/Admiral) qualify you. We've had life long politicans make it to the Presidency, and they haven't done much for the regular Joe. Maybe, just maybe someone who remembers what it was like to grow up poor, may show some compassion for his fellow American, where others before him, are firmly detached from it. |

I have cousins that look white, but they aren't- but they certainly could "pass". Right down to the straight hair, so you can't tell a lot by appearance. I betcha, if more white folks shook their family tree, there'd be some blacks falling out of there. Personally, I don't know of any whites in my family tree, but I do know my great grandfather was 100% Choctaw Indian, which makes me 1/8th (+/-). Most of us are muts, so race shoudn't matter. I'm concerned that Obama will want to play Robinhood, like many in his party. They think the "rich" need to give up some of their wealth. Well, I'm not rich but because I make a steady income Robinhood will steal from me too, and give it to the poor. I don't see that as compasion. We've got a new govenor in our state, Partick. He's one of Obamas buddies. He was also a great orator. When he ran for govenor he gave the great speaches and eventually got elected. His speaches unfortunately didn't translate into actions. He's got some blunders. He's not really done much of anything but raise taxes. He does make proposals for things that the state can't afford, unless they raise taxes more. Things that would benefit less than half of a percent of the population. Here in my city we've got a new mayor. His campaign promises have turned out to be broken promises. There are a lot of people who voted him in who are wishing they'de done differently. After the election is over and we've elected a new president the honeymoon will be short lived. I fear, because I've seen examples here in my own state and city, that for all of Obamas hope and change speach he too will have people who voted for him wishing they'de done differently. I fear that he will be just like his buddy, our govenor Patrick. |

As we all know, A president is only as good as his cabinet, and will only be as effective as congress allows him to be. Yes, I think to be a well rounded leader, be it on the call center floor, or the leader of the free world, to be well rounded, one must have compassion, as well as other capabilities. I can't spend my night wondering what Obama may do with the purse strings once he gets them, if he gets them. But, I do know what has happened over the last 8 years, and I gotta tell ya; I have not been happy about that much either. George did more to cast the (R) s in a bad light, as anything else. I'm glad Obama made it this far, but in my gut, I have my doubts that America will turn out for him in November, they way they have in the primaries. I don't think McCain is a better choice, but when it comes down to black -vs- white, (and it's goign to come to that), then I think McCain has a better shot. There's just not enough minorities to offset history. Not on election day. I'll recant if I'm wrong in November. |

I don't hate him cause of color, I am judging him on the content of his character and his character stinks. Stalin was less of a a$$ wipe than this bigoted hater yes I called obama a hater, he hates whites, he hates mom and apple pie, he hates the American way of life, this man is a hater he hates liberty and the constitution, which means I hate him.
