Scott McClellan - Bush's Ex-Press Secretary

I'm sure you all heard about this news story. Scott McClellan writes a tell-all book about the Bush administration's inner workings while he was the White House press secretary. He stated that Bush lied about the reasoning for the war, hurricane Katrina's mess, etc. (I hope not - a lot of people died.) I'm sure some of us kinda knew this day would come, but what interest me is that there was a statement made that McClellan overheard a phone conversation Bush had with a cocaine dealer (?) while in the White House. What troubling times we live in. - Og

Yeah I heard about this guy. I just dont understand if all of this was going and he was so against it why didnt he resign or quit. From what everyone was saying he didnt voice any concerns at all. It just amazes me that anyone can make any allegation and it is up to the people that the story is about to disprove it, it is never the job of the person making the allegations to prove their story. I am not saying that McClellan is a liar, but I am saying that it just seems a little fishy that he wrote this book and had never said anything to anyone b/f.

If I read correctly, McClellan didn't resign per se.

I don't plan on buying and/or reading his book, which is making him a good amount of cash at the moment. Mybe it's truthful, maybe it's not.

The thing that I find interesting is that all the liberals, especially liberal talk radio, for years constantly claimed that republicans lie. They bashed McClellan as much as any other republican. He lies they said. Now that he's got his book out there saying things that they say, he's finally telling the truth.

So, let me see if I've got this right. If it doesn't fit the liberal mantra, it's a lie. If it's parroting their constant accusations, it's truth?

And, yeah.. why didn't he say something earlier? Is it because Obama wasn't running yet? What's next, a McClellan endorsement of Obama?

It's not like the three that are running this year are going to do any better.

Kinda like a fly on the wall idea. I'm sure Clinton's house keepers knew A LOT!!! I bet they had to clean his Man Chowder out of every room in the White House. That is unless it got soaked up by a dress or something.

Here's what Bob Dole had to say about Scott McClellan...

"There are miserable creatures like you in every administration who don't have the guts to speak up or quit if there are disagreements with the boss or colleagues."

"Your type soaks up the benefits of power, revels in the limelight for years, then quits, and spurred on by greed, cashes in with a scathing critique."

I never liked McClellan. He should have had the spine to quit if he didn't like telling the lies he was told to tell.

It's not like this is Breaking news. We all knew Bush/Cheney and the crew were putting a HUGE Spin on this whole Iraq war thing. McClellan's at the end of a LONG list of people to finally come out and tell the truth...

Supposedly McClellan's Christian Faith finally brought him to fess up. I am glad he finally did. Too little, Too late though..

Going along with the butler analogy... A butler usually hears enough to THINK he knows something, but not enough to actually. Same for press secretaries.
