Nice car!

I've always regreted selling my 91 and 82 5.0's. Currently in the market for another Mustang.

Thanks everyone. Question on mods: No I won’t wait for the warranty but I won’t start right away. I still have my truck, so this will be a weekend car and I want to start doing local shows for fun. I don’t know about some of the other Mustang owners but for me, ½ the fun is tinkering and building it up, investigating parts and planning what to do next.

I went on my first real drive last night, what a blast. This car has come a long way. 100% stiock and blows away my old 92 slightly modified in every way. And I love that when you hit the brakes it stops quick and smooth, unlike the Fox body.

I'm glad that you're not one of the Fox body guys who won't open their eyes to anything else. I hear it all the time. "The new edge and S197 are tanks and so slow compared to my Fox." It's so annoying considering the facts are there. The S197 is the fastest GT that's been made. Mid to Low 13s stock. I've got a buddy who is pulling 12.8s on a VMP 93 octane tune and K&N intake, nothing else. Stock tires, stock everything but those two mods. It's insane.

Those guys are fools.. As cool as the fox body was, it's just not in the same league as the new GT..

I agree, the Fox body style was an awesome platform. The biggest one of these guys is my girlfriend's older brother. He's got a Fox Vert and a 2008 Mustang GT but he swears that his 2000 Mustang was faster than it. He seems to think it'll run a 14.6 in the 1/4 mile.

I've learned to just say okay and shake my head.

Those Mustangs are just so F'ing sexy! Ford did a fantastic job with that car, everything comes together for an amazing package at a great price.

Do you want a GT500 spoiler? It's painted Black. I'm getting rid of mine and getting a Roush.

I was never into fox bodies. I think the 68, 04, and 08 are the best years for the GT. But thats me...

Update

Thanks again everyone. I've been a kid again at home. Already washed it twice, polished the wheels and cleaned the engine. I took it to my first show, well actually a cruise night. I didn’t win but it was cool just pulling up with something that belonged there. (I didn’t really think a very clean bone stock 08 was going to walk away with an award)

Thumper – I love the Fox years, and would like to own one again but there’s not much comparison against the new GT’s. I bought my bone stock 92 with 16,000 miles in 95 for $11,000. You just can’t do that anymore, it was a great bang for the buck and I had a hell of a good time with that car. But it did have it’s short coming. And so does my 08 but it blows the Fox away. The power is great with 300 HP v. 225 of my 5.0. Like I said before it actually stops and smooth. The shifting feels more crisp and closer. And the low wide stance gives you some confidence hitting a curve at high speed. Thanks for the GT 500 tail offer but I’m going to take my time figuring out which direction I want to go. I like the duck tail look through.

I’ve been looking at a full exhaust for the first mod. I’m eyeing the Steeda cat back and headers and still investigating high flow cats.

Question: I have experience with Dynomax and Magna flow and plenty of guys run flowmaster. Does anyone know what the steeda sounds like?
