I know for me I am not getting worked up over the gas prices yet. I think this is all greed and it will level off and the prices will come down. I have made some adjustments in the meantime that are saving me money and is helping with fuel cost. For starters I bought a affordable beater car, I quit smoking, I quit drinking at the bar and bringing home a 30pack. I stopped eating out in restaurants, I don't get take out for lunch anymore, I have been buying bread and making lunch at home and been looking for sales and buying store brands in grocery stores and cutting back on the junk. I also had to get my wife to quit some of her expensive shopping trips and over spending on junk. As far as I am concerned when the gas prices drop, I will start spending again. It really sucks because it is hurting the economy big time, but what are you going to do when gas is streaking towards $6 and $7 a gallon you have to start giving something up. I feel like this is going to turn out just like the housing boom, oil companies are going to out price themselves and they are going to lose thier A$$ in a couple of years. It is all greed, everyone trying to get rich overnight and it is the poor and middle class that suffer the most..

Regular gasoline sold for $2.29 a gallon
Yep, and people then were whining about how much gas was, yet were buying big gas guzzling trucks and SUV's as fast as they could be built.

Too many Americans have no concept of the "common good" required for a society to remain successful and intact, to them it's all just "me, me, me". I truly feel sorry for those of you who NEED a truck to earn a living, to the rest of you who only drive a truck because you LIKE it or WANT it, you have made your bed, sleep in it. I'm sleeping in mine, I sure can't sell it for anywhere near what it's worth.

I have no idea how much I spend on gas, I'm retired and don't HAVE to go anywhere except the store, and I can afford to put gas in it when it needs it. I will say that my road trips are going to be cut way back though.

Same here.....$4.195 a gallon across the street from where I work. I'm spending ~$250 a month on gas. Min wage sucks, I might look for a better paying job if gas prices don't go down.

I guess it's about time I replied in a gas mileage thread.

I have NO idea how many MPG's I get. It'd make me sad to know.

I spend about $400 a month just got back and forth to work and then probably another $100 for fun driving. I will either be moving closer to work or finding a job that is closer to where i live to help out.
