I started a job about 7 months ago that provides a company car so I don't pay for gas unless I take it on a trip (even then, I fill up for free before I leave). So I don't drive the F150 very much. I LOVE driving the truck but I just could not afford the gas if I had to. Still, I would like to take it out on some 4x4 trails this summer and I'm sure each time out I'll be spending $200. That is just crazy for a day out having some fun. To be honest, that is pretty much all my spending money for the month.

Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006:

5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars;

6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.

America voted for change in 2006, and we got it!

Remember it's Congress that makes law not the President. He has to work with what's handed to him.
Price of gas was $1.50 in 2000, tripling in eight years. No matter if you are a Democrat or Republican, the politician don't pay for their gas and could care less.

We really need to get these liberal douchebags out of congress. They are destroying the country as we know it, and and at the same time brainwashing the common people into believing they aren't.
Which was already going south when the republicans were in office and GW hasn't done a thing to help matters.

me my self im a college student and also working but i spend around 350 a month for gas. i am currently having a friend that lives by my ranch which is 2+ hours away, he is feeding the cattle for me because i cant afford to drive down there every other weekend now i just go to work cattle or hunt. If gas goes up more i dunno what im gonna do. right now sometimes me and my buddy drive down there in a Saturn 4cyl to help save gas. Plus we have A F-250 sitting down there so i just drive a lil car there and then just jump into the F-250. the way things are going including food prices i might move down there and live of the land

Things were heading south long before GW took office. It all started with Bill Clinton's pinko ***.

I'm looking into getting a propane conversion done. $1800 for an EPA certified kit, about the same gas milage and a boost in performance with a proper tune. Propane is about $2.60 a gallon. Plus, the yearly $2K-$4K tax break would be nice. I'd still be able to switch between gas and propane whenever needed.

I'm spending about $600 a month on gas, and am either going to make my F150 suit my needs or find something else that can tow 6K and get better gas milage.

Yup, you're right it was the liberals that did it. It was like a light switch, one day the economy was great, the dollar was strong, people were paying prices for houses that were way over what they were actually worth, refinancing them and increasing they debt, and everything was great.
Then here come the liberals, all of a sudden everything changed. Everyone knows the big oil companies have the Dems in their back pocket. It wasnt until the Dems stepped up that the US government began spending more then it could generate every year in taxes increasing our national debt and decreasing the value of our dollar by printing more money to cover the problem up. The Liberals love the idea of spending at the very basic figures, 5 billion a month in Iraq and Afgan...

Whats been happening for a long time now is American is spending more then it should, and not in the right places for that matter. It's also more then the debt alone, In 1980 the percentage of income tax used to pay the interest of the debt was about 30%. In 1992, just 12 years later, that had doubled to 60%. With further increases in spending all we can expect is a debt so large that eventually other countries will no longer feel safe investing in America. When this happens, along with the increase in the production of money, the American dollar value with crash, Hyper-inflation, and everyone who saved, or who has will be left with very little to nothing to show for it. Banks will be hit so hard the GOV will have to default on the FDIC guarantee.

"WASHINGTON – President Bush unveiled a $3.1-trillion budget today that would boost military spending and trim health benefits for retirees. The proposal was immediately tagged by Democrats as “irresponsible.”

The first spending plan in history to top $3 trillion would freeze or eliminate many domestic spending programs yet still rack up a $407-billion deficit for fiscal 2009, which begins Oct. 1. The Pentagon is the only department for which Bush proposes a significant increase; its budget would grow 7.5% to $515 billion
For Democrats, the Bush budget provides a summary of the policies of his administration they find most egregious: the war in Iraq, tax cuts that worsened the federal deficit, and the squeezing of social programs such as Social Security and Medicare.

“This budget is fiscally irresponsible and highly deceptive, hiding the costs of the war in Iraq while increasing our skyrocketing debt,” said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.). “President Bush’s fiscal policies are the worst in our nation’s history – he has turned record surpluses into record deficits – and this budget is more of the same.”

Sheezzz... people (who don't have a clue) love to turn things like this political. I guess they can't find any REAL political issues to support their views so they turn to things like this. Really sounds like "my dad can beat up your dad" syndrome between 4 year olds.

The situation in America is pretty sad, figuring it's the 21st century.

I need my truck's wheels to keep turning to have me make money.

However, I am hoping the price of fuel doesn't go up too much in the next few months before I get out of college, or else I'm going to have to downgrade to a used F150 to get away from the monthly payments.

I should've just kept my '99...

I got tired of driving 30 miles one-way to work each day. 60 miles round trip 5-6 days a week. That was $375.00 a month just going to work, and nothing else, not to mention 1440 miles a month. I took a new job starting tomorrow, that is 2.7 miles from my house. I can ride a bike to work in the spring, summer and fall. That will save me about $300.00 a month in gas if I choose to drive, and about an hour and a half of my time each day.

Yet the (D) controlled congress won't do a thing to help fix the current oil problem, and we all know what that is.
