I haven't looked at one lately. The last time i looked they were buying the same engines as everyone else.
Have they started making their own again?

I know that some have Briggs & Stratton engines but "Nothing Runs LIke A Deere" as they say! I had a test drive on the Z turn type (with the levers) move very fast but the slightest movement sends you hurtling off in another direction, not my sort of thing!

I've got a single joystick snapper, I don't enven have to weedeat around the trees.

It does have traction problems, at times you have to move slower than others or you'll tear some turf.

A lot of the little Deeres and the Cubs are made by the same company. MTD. Deere paints them green and assembles them.
I have an L111 Deere and I love it. But if I park it next to the equivalent Cub 42" the only real difference is the color and a few Cub features.

A single joystick snapper sounds like a "Personal Problem" to me!..........

Correct & the big JDs are just overpriced because of the name. It's so annoying that they put out so much merchandise. I bet they make more profit off of their merchandise than their tractors.

Yeah, my local Deere dealer has a whole room full of toys! They also have the big stuff and the agricultural line so it is fun to walk around the lot.

They are priced based on their quality! My Deere X-595 Diesel has much heavier guage steel on the frame/loader attatchment/mower deck.....even has a extra lug nut on each wheel, an industrial grade hydro-tranny, Yanmar 3 Cyl engine!...........My friends Kabota of the same size tractor does not even compare in quality! He is even the 1st to admitt it too! You get what ya pay for!..............

You must be a genius bro!!!

Well just an update, I was getting ready to remove the carb and clean it and when i was looking for a tool i noticed a can of sea foam sitting on the shelf, so just for ****s and giggles i removed the hose end from the fuel filter and placed it inside the sea foam can. I started the mower and allowed it to run for some time as the can was getting close to empty i turned off the mower and allowed it to sit while i did some weedwacking. I came back hooked up the gas line to the filter and started up the mower and holy crap all is well, runs like it was new!!!!. Maybe a fluke who knows but i will say it worked and dam it worked well. Go figure!!! (oh and it smoked for about a minute then cleared up)

So many times an issue is left hanging.
Somebody reads the thread title and thinks, "Hey, that's me."
Then they get to the last post and it's a dead end.

This is a thread with a nice bow on it, thanks to buck's followup.

I use Seafoam in all of my equipment every fall. The next spring everything stars great. Better than Sta bil in my opinion.

I got a bottle of Gumout for Large Vehicles, fuel system cleaner... and dumped the entire thing in a 1/2 tank of gas in my GT1554... Wow... is all I can say. It really cleaned it out good... I'm not sure if it solved my problem or not... but I know changing the fuel filter did a big difference.
