Saturday Morning Cartoons Revisited

Co-workers and I were discussing how things were so great back in the day and cartoons came up. Saturday mornings were the greatest. We talked about how the cartoon shows today simply suck. I think the best era was early 80's thru the mid 90's. What were you guy's favorites? By the way, remember these? - Og

As a kid all I remember watching was "Bugs Bunny and Friends". Of course that was before the bleeding hearts decided it was too violent for kids and edited them. As a younger man I remember making sure I caught "The Tick" Saturday mornings. I still laugh as I remember the Ticks sidekick Arthor picking out his battle cry. "Not the face! Not the face!"

I loved GI JOE, Transformers, Mighty Mouse, Scooby Doo, and all of the Looney Tunes like Bugs, Silvester and Tweety, Porky Pig, RoadRunner, Elmer Fud, Daffy Duck, etc.

Tom and Jerry before it was politically incorrect and Sesame Street when it was OK that Oscar lived in a garbage can.

Tom and Jerry no longer has a house keeper wearing a red doo rag chasing them with a broom if you know what I mean.

I donlt remember any of that. Its seemed pretty normal to me. So they had a black maid on the cartoon?

Her face was never shown, but it was fairly easy to figure out she was black.

I don't see anything wrong with having a black maid. Or a brown maid, or a white maid. Tom and Jerry was pretty good though.

I could go on for days about 80's and 90's saturday morning cartoons. Here's some of the best/most obscure ones I can think of: Wheelie and the Chopper bunch, Thundercats, He-man, Heathcliff the cat, and Speed buggy!
