What difference do those questions make as far as military equipment is concerned? Preparedness, boy.

Some People will never, "Get It"! The War we have been fighting since 911 is a non-conventional War! It is not defined by our enemies wearing a certain uniform, or them operating the machines of a conventional War! Go back to watching "American Idol."........................

Anyhow, you've yet to explain how a massive air fleet is useful in today's world, Stealth.
You make contradictory statements...

As to why an air fleet is necessary... Are you *****tin me?

We bombed Iraq, with planes in Kentucky... Planes get there quicker. Sorry Crazed, not all the worlds problems can be solved with an email.

I'm not going to bring my dislike of Unions into this thread, but if you look at the current military action we're currently engaged in, the air powers haven't played a major role since the opening volleys. At that, it was mainly the stealth technology that played a vital part wiping out the SAM's, SAG's and Mr. Ping (radar). This allowed the heavy bombers to come in... ahem, the 50-something year old B-52's (love those!).
There are no million/billion dollar planes flying in Afghanistan or Iraq providing close ground support. This is being provided for by the helo's and Warthogs.
Strategic bombing these days requires smart bombs more than smart planes or even smart pilots for that matter.

I totally understand being prepared and I support that. You're saying Crazed wants to "bring a knife to a gunfight", but by your train of thought, you'd rather demolish the house to kill a ****roach...

Who knows, maybe China will do what they do with everything, copy that Russian aircraft carrier, copy it 10X's over and start WW3... that'd keep you busy and no risk of strike huh Stealth.

J/K.

I know you don't wanna hear that, cause it's your livlihood.
The real "battle" will take place house to house, and the "major blows" will be delivered by the same tired old B-52's (still love em though), nuke subs and destroyers.

So we fight them how we need in the unconventional manner and continue the modernization needed for future battles. Very simple solution.

You have no clue what China is capable of these days, do you?

The stealth jets being built now for the USA are multi-role fighters. JSF, not just for large scale air combat anymore.

With your current points of view, God help us all if you get elected.
