Rans aircraft are a great find. Easy to fly too. Basically, this LSA breed thats getting a lot of hype lately omits the medical certificate that many old people cant get anymore, so all you need is one of these and a drivers license and you're legally allowed to fly. Money wise, they are a great buy, but I do not classify them as a real airplane. I fly a Piper PA-28-140 Cherokee, one of the most popular low-wing models out there. It cruises at around 120-127 knots (135 mph) and carries 3-4 people, depending on the load. But those new ones out there are getting pretty flashy with their Garmin units and Rotax engines.

I see he uses "Green Domes," same here Did he build it or buy it complete?

He bought it complete and then added a few things to it.

I started UCF when Alafaya was 2 lanes and they were starting to widen it to 6 lanes. I lived at Fox Hunt for my first 3 years there.

Ahhh Fox Hunt. I has a couple friends that lived there. They were actually roomy two story apartments for a low low price. I have been to some good college parties there. I remember alafaya being two lanes. I moved to Central Florida back in 1992. The whole waterford lakes shopping plaza used to be a big field. That place has changed so much in the past 10-15 years. It got super crowded before i moved to Texas in 2006.

Yeah, my rent was $125/mo. We had 2 guys in each room.

My brother started at UCF back in '86 when University Blvd was 2 lanes. That area has changed a ton.

Ok Pilots, who's going to OSHKOSH this year? I feel like I should take my Dad, but I am not sure he could walk all over. Pop's is 85, flies a '55 F Model Bonanza and flew B-17's in WWII. Yes, he does have a current medical and needs to practice with his buddy before he takes his bi-annual flight check. WE went to Oshkosh together years ago. Amazing place!

I fly a piper tomahawk, it's not a bad plane. But I would like to purchase my own plane, do some work on it myself. Only thing is, when something goes wrong up there you're out of chances. And things go wrong all the time on the truck that I work on
