If we as Americans keep wasting and wasting there will be little left for our children or their children. Its time to open your young eyes and see.
I think a smaller 4x4 then... but it needs to be rear wheel drive based... not a Ford Escape, Toyota Highlander/Rav4, etc...

I might like a Charger or a Magnum in RWD only.

My one job pays for my gas. I get to fill out those cool trip logs. So all I do is write down how much my fillup was and that's it.

perhaps you need to take a driver training course. if you have that much trouble with a compact car, if follows that you must be a poor driver in the truck too.

I find that I drive larger vehicles better because I need to concentrate more because it would suck for the other person getting hit by me. Not to mention, being bigger doesn't want to make me go fast anyhow. When driving a clown car like a Focus for example, I tend to go faster, take riskier driving habits, and drive like I own the road.

In my truck for example, I like to go slow, hold up traffic, take precise turns, and go down hills at 20 mph in 2nd. While everyone else is destroying their brakes.

Plus front wheel drive is so unpredictable. I hate it during the winter, and when the roads are garbage. The only thing front wheel drive is good for is people that don't care how their car drives.

I do care... that's the difference.

But that's just me...

For me personally, a car just doesnt fit in my needs. I have a snowmobile that I sometimes haul up to northern Wisconsin to go riding and I heat my home with a woodstove, so I need to be able to haul firewood.
When I get caught up on my bills Id also like to get an ATV. I used to do some local ATV races and it was a lot of fun.
Also, there are just so many times where a truck comes in handy.
Id love to be able to trade my truck in on a Fusion, Edge or even an Escape; but those vehicles just dont fit my needs.
I agree that small cars and SUVs dont fit everyone's needs, but I think the point of that article was the Detroit needs to realize that the market has changed and that they can no longer count on big trucks and SUVs for the bulk of their sales.

Only gas guzzling cars come with rear wheel drive.
If you cannot drive a car, whether it's front wheel drive, or rear wheel drive, you need surrender you License to your DMV! I drive a 2008 Ford CVPI for work with 250HP. Sometimes 16 Hrs a day! It gets great fuel economy by the way!...............
