Spent the morning at the hospital with dad. He had another small stroke, he was eating at whataburger and felt really strange. His left side went numb and couldn't talk very well. He drove himself to the ER again, parked in the parking lot and couldn't get out of the Suv. He drove up to the drop off area and was able to get someone's attention. They still think his shunt on the brain is causing the problems, but he won't consider surgery again. They released him at 8 this evening and everything seems ok, his speech is still slurred but he's ok.
FWIW -- he sure sounds like a tough old coot.....
I guess that's the price of living a long life -- you get old enough that this sort of crap happens to you.....
Coy...small series of strokes are fairly common in men over 80 yrs old. My Dad had his first at 80 yrs old and lived to be almost 89. Hope your Dad pulls through this OK.

He's going to be fine, He told me yesterday he's lived a great life and seen all his Kids, Grand kids and Great Grand Kids grow up. He's just enjoying life as much as he can. 85 Years old, Still up and out of the house at 6am every morning and stays out for for 5 or 6 hours a day.
Up at Winstar Casino the last couple of days for a regional sales meeting. The hotel is wonderful, but my God -- 95% of the people walking around the casino look as if they are already dead and just don't know it......
