Daughter called about noon, their Excursion quit on them. They were on the way from Red River, NM back to Damon. Had to go get them, truck was towed to a Fort Worth dealer. Water pump, thermostat, housing and a belt. $1200. They had to have a starter put on in Red River, that cost $1000. A fuel line last week was $900. Those diesels are not cheap. All this time, I thought they had a 2004 with a 6.0. It's a 2003 with a 7.3 and 152,000 miles.

Dang man, I'm sorry to hear that. I'd be glad they don't have the 6.0, they'd have way more issues than that.

Wow speedy Saturday service. Must be a very early 03 because early 03 production they swapped to 6.0

7.3 could still be special ordered at any time that year for an extra bit of money...most of the dealer order alocations had the 6.0

The book said 3.5 hours and they got it done in about 2 hours once they started on it. It was about 2:00 or 2:30 before they started and they had it done by 4:30. Then, my son in laws credit card would not go through when he tried to pay, his second card was declined as well. He called the card company and they had put a freeze on his card for anything over $300 because of the Target mess. He got them to approve the transaction. They had spent the night out running the blizzard out of NM through Amarillo to Witchita Falls. They were about fried. We got to spend a little time with them and then they headed South about 8:30. Finally got home about 1:00.

I was almost certain they had a 6.0, seem to recall when they bought it that Robert said it had been so well maintained he wanted to take a chance on it. But, it has the 7.3.

Made a round trip to Waco today for Christmas with family. Record time 220 miles in 2hrs 30 mins going and 2hrs 40 mins coming back.
Gotta love 2 lane country back roads.
Poor ol truck had his tongue hanging out
