I'm dreading when those temps you are seeing come my way... lowest was 8* the other day. Thank god I replaced the thermostat in September. The heat is so powerful now since the truck gets right up to temp. I've had to turn it down even when it's already on speed 1

Battery tender will keep a battery warm and charge it too.....but not as warm as a heater...

BTW.....lithium batteries have different tolerances to cold than lead acid batteries...

If my battery needs a heater, it's time to head South.

That is true about the battery types, I guess it can only help. The oil pan one I am most excited for because that should keep the oil thinner so it gets up to the engine faster. I MAY look into a circulating coolant one this summer, but I'm not sure yet.

I've only have ever used the factory/dealer installed block heaters....never had any issues with them.....the last two work trucks I've had haven't come with anything to help in the winter and they've always started ok in the winter months....

I just hate the having to let it run to warm it up... keeping it warm for a few hours before I start should make that less and save the gas due to idling. Last year with the bad thermostat was terrible. It would not even peg the middle mark. I have to put a bag over the grille and even then it wasn't getting up to temp

Yeah who ever did my remote start (on there when I bought it) did a funky setup. No looming for anything Same with the reverse sensors. How much does a a remote start with alarm cost? I want to have that redone at somepoint.

the ones I've been looking at (viper, autopage, Clifford, audiovox) around $250 plus install....leaning towards the viper or autopage.....smart start phone app can be added down the road if I want to pay for it....

basic kits are around $100 plus install......the guy that's going to do mine is certified in autpage and viper....he has given me the part numbers to look for and buy...then he'll do the removal and install for $100-$150....

I'm adding on motion, radar motion, glass breakage modules.....@ aprox $20 each...either one of the kits will come with an lcd sstll 2 way transmitter remote fob that'll let you know what's going on....

its nice to have friends in the business that I started with 25+ years ago that are still in business.....there are a few hack joints around here that I know of and will never go to....they usually don't last long....
